A golf cart might just be the most important piece of gear after your clubs. Whether you ride or push, the right accessories can make your round more comfortable, more organized, and even more fun.

From practical add-ons that keep your gear dry to comfort features that make long days easier, here’s a guide to the must-have golf cart accessories, along with brand examples for each.

For riding golf carts

Cart covers and enclosures

A full cart cover or enclosure shields you from wind, rain, and cold. These are especially useful for early spring and late fall golf.

  • Brands to consider: Classic Accessories, Formosa Covers, DoorWorks Golf Cart Enclosures
  • Tip: Make sure you choose one that fits your specific cart model (EZ-GO, Club Car, Yamaha).

Seat covers and cushions

A quality seat cover adds comfort and can protect your cart’s upholstery from sun and rain damage.

  • Brands to consider: Classic Accessories Fairway Collection, 10L0L Golf, Buggies Unlimited
  • Materials: Weather-resistant fabrics, padded vinyl, or memory foam.

Cooler attachments

Staying hydrated is key, especially on hot days. A mounted cooler makes it easy to keep drinks and snacks cold.

  • Brands to consider: Caddie Buddy, ProActive Sports, Yamaha OEM coolers
  • Mounting: Rear fender, under seat, or side-mounted options.

GPS or rangefinder mounts

Hands-free mounting for your GPS or rangefinder keeps it secure and easy to read between shots.

  • Brands to consider: Caddie Buddy, Desert Fox, Garmin mounts
  • Tip: Check if your device brand offers a custom-fit holder.

Sand bottle holders

These hold sand and seed mix for repairing divots on fairways. Many courses require them for riding carts.

  • Brands to consider: Club Car OEM, Yamaha, aftermarket universal holders.

USB chargers

A small but essential upgrade if you use GPS apps or want to keep your phone charged for music or scoring.

  • Brands to consider: Roykaw, 10L0L, Golf Cart King.

For push carts

Umbrella holders

Keeps your umbrella upright to shield you from rain or sun while you walk.

  • Brands to consider: Clicgear, Bag Boy, Sun Mountain, Motocaddy.
  • Tip: Adjustable-angle holders help with wind control.

Storage nets or pouches

Extra storage nets attach under the handle or along the sides for balls, tees, and snacks.

  • Brands to consider: Clicgear Storage Net, Big Max Mesh Organizer, Sun Mountain accessories.

Drink holders

Most push carts include one basic holder, but upgrading to a larger or insulated version keeps drinks secure and cold.

  • Brands to consider: Clicgear XL Cup Holder, Bag Boy Adjustable Beverage Holder.

Seat attachments

A clip-on seat lets you take a break while waiting on the tee or fairway.

  • Brands to consider: Clicgear Seat, Motocaddy Deluxe Seat, Big Max Basic Seat.

Phone mounts

Keeps your GPS app visible without needing to dig in your bag.

  • Brands to consider: Clicgear GPS/Phone Holder, Desert Fox Phone Caddy.

Cart mitts or hand warmers

Perfect for cold-weather golf. They attach to the handle so you can slide your hands in between shots.

  • Brands to consider: Clicgear Cart Mitts, Bag Boy Cart Mitts, HotHands or rechargeable hand warmers.

For both riding and push carts

Rain covers for golf bags

Keeps clubs and grips dry during wet rounds.

  • Brands to consider: Sun Mountain Dry Hood, Bag Boy Cart Rain Cover, Club Glove Rain Hood.

Club and shaft protection

If you play often on bumpy courses or travel with your cart, club protection systems help prevent wear.

  • Brands to consider: Club Glove Gloveskin Covers, neoprene iron covers, or full bag liners.

Personal fans

Battery-powered or rechargeable fans make a huge difference in hot, humid weather.

Speaker systems

Portable Bluetooth speakers are a popular add-on for golfers who like background music during their round.

  • Brands to consider: Bushnell Wingman, JBL Clip, UE Boom.
  • Tip: Keep volume course-friendly so you don’t disturb other players.

Alignment rod or umbrella tube storage

Handy for keeping alignment rods or umbrellas from rattling around in your bag.

  • Brands to consider: Bag Boy, Sun Mountain, aftermarket Velcro straps.

Choosing accessories based on your cart type

  • Riding cart: Look for accessories that mount securely without interfering with steering or passenger space. OEM accessories from EZ-GO, Club Car, and Yamaha often fit better than universal options.
  • Manual push cart: Weight matters. Accessories should be lightweight and easy to attach or remove. Many brands like Clicgear, Bag Boy, and Sun Mountain have their own accessory lines to ensure compatibility.
  • Electric push cart: Similar to manual carts, but you’ll also want to make sure accessories don’t interfere with battery placement or controls.

Final thoughts

Golf cart accessories can turn a standard cart into a personal, comfortable, and fully equipped mobile clubhouse. From protection against the elements to added storage, these upgrades can make the game more enjoyable and convenient.

How did you manage to overlook the most important accessory, the Club Clean club and ball cleaner. Its far more important to be able to clean your clubs between shots than to have an extra drink holder.

What about single rider carts?? Why don’t the domestic manufacturers offer them? My course has no cart paths so only allows single rider carts. One huge advantage is the time savings of 30to 45 minutes per round which adds up to major revenue per course per month.
