October weather took a downward turn registering -9% vs. Year Ago (YA) for Golf Playable Hours at the national level. That however only marginally widened the Year-to-Date (YtD) deficit which still remains in negative territory at -3% at the ten-month mark which historically comprises ~89% of annual rounds played nationally. The YtD regional breadth metric remained neutral at a 1:1 ratio comprised of 13 favorable regions vs. 19 unfavorables with 13 in the neutral zone (+/-2%). National Played Rounds for September, as published by Circana (the artist formerly known as Golf Datatech), were muted at +2% at the All Facilities level. Comparing back to last month’s GPH results (+4%), that combination produced a slight decline in Utilization registering -1 pt for the month.
