Cleveland Releases All-new Zipcore And Halo Xl Irons

CLEVELAND GOLF has added two new game improvement options to its range of irons, with the launch of the all-new ZipCore XL and HALO XL Full-Face Irons, which will be at retail from February 17.

“We designed these irons with the intent to let the clubs do all the hard work with optimised tech features like our XL Head Designs and MainFrame to ensure maximum forgiveness,” said Joe Miller, European Product Manager, Cleveland Golf Europe. “Our goal was easy. We wanted golfers to see better results on the course with products made specifically for their needs. They’re going to see better distance, consistent spin, with exceptional feel, no matter which of these two sets of irons they choose.”

The ZipCore XL and HALO XL Full-Face Irons pair forgiving long irons with precise short irons to deliver optimal performance where players need it most.

Each iron features Cleveland’s MainFrame technology. On HALO XL Full-Face Irons, MainFrame takes shape in a variable thickness face pattern that maximizes flex at impact for better COR, while also using weight pads to position mass low and deep to boost MOI for more forgiveness. On ZipCore XL Irons (4i-7i), MainFrame uses a variable network of grooves, channels, and cavities milled into the backside of the clubface to boost COR, along with weight pads to boost MOI.

ZipCore XL

Two key features of the all-new ZipCore XL Irons are the inclusion of ZipCore and HydraZip technologies. Used for the first time ever in an Iron, ZipCore XL’s short-irons (8i-SW) feature Cleveland Golf’s unique low-density core, setting the Centre of Gravity right where the ball is struck, to promote more consistency when it comes to launch, spin, and distance. HydraZip helps balance spin on every club with a dynamic blast that varies through the set ensuring long Irons are maximized for distance and consistency, while shorter Irons boost spin and control. ZipCore XL Irons also feature loft-specific grooves to further optimise spin performance.

Designed with Cleveland Golf’s V-Shaped sole, ZipCore XL Irons increased bounce on the leading edge helps maintain club head speed through impact for a clean strike, while the trailing edge relief on the back end allows for more workability and shot shaping.

RRP: Steel: £719 (5-PW), Graphite: £699 (6-PW)

HALO XL Full-Face

The structure of the all-new HALO XL Full-Face Irons begins with their XL Head Design. This Hybrid-Iron profile shifts more mass away from the centre of the club, increasing MOI for more forgiveness, a high-launching ball flight, and straighter shots.

For the first time ever on an iron, HALO XL Full-Face features full-face grooves to ensure consistent spin performance no matter where the ball is struck. The striking area is 20% larger than the last generation for improved forgiveness. HydraZip works alongside Full-Face grooves to maintain consistent spin performance in all conditions. A new two-groove alignment system keeps the face square at address and centered behind the ball for consistent accuracy. The shorter, lower groove promotes correct ball position alignment, while the longer groove helps align the clubhead to the target.

HALO XL Full-Face Irons use a three-sole system designed to fit long, mid, and short-iron swings. GlideRail in the long-Irons improves turf interaction promoting solid contact, while mid-range lofts feature Cleveland Golf’s V-Shaped sole to cut through the turf for cleaner contact. In short Irons and Wedges, the three-tiered sole provides maximum forgiveness on pitches, chips, and bunker shots.

HALO XL Full-Face Irons also feature Action Mass CB, an 8-gram counterweight placed inside the shaft at the top of the grip to promote a more balanced, consistent swing.
