Cleveland Launches Full-face Wedge Range

CLEVELAND GOLF has announced the launch of two new wedge ranges – the RTX Full-Face 2 and Smart Sole Full-Face, both of which will be at retail from February 10.

RTX Full-Face 2

Designed to take players’ short games to the next level with its versatility and playability, the new RTX Full-Face 2 Wedges feature hosel-to-toe grooves and an extended toe area to give skilled golfers the confidence to take on demanding open-face shots.

“Skilled players wanting that extra element of control with their greenside play will reap the benefits of the RTX Full-Face 2,” said Joe Miller, European Product Manager, Cleveland Golf Europe. “We’ve added HydraZip face technology to maximise performance in wet or dry conditions, which works alongside ZipCore technology for even more forgiveness and consistency when you want to take on those riskier shots.”

New to the RTX Full-Face 2 is HydraZip. HydraZip is a dynamic blast and laser-milled line system integrated into the wedge, maximizing spin in wet or dry conditions, or from anywhere around the green. These lasered micro-milling lines are angled towards the grooves, adding more roughness and friction at impact.

To further RTX Full-Face 2’s spin performance, UltiZip grooves cover the entire striking area. These grooves help cut through debris at contact, while the high-toe profile enhances golfers’ ability to take on aggressive short-game shots.

Another key feature is Cleveland’s ZipCore technology, which positions the centre of gravity closer to where the club strikes the ball for more consistent performance and enhanced forgiveness. RTX Full- Face 2 features up to 96% more ZipCore material compared to its predecessor, which delivers 13% better MOI.

Full-Face 2 wedges are offered in three versatile sole grind options, each shaped based on loft groupings. For lower lofts ranging from 50°- 52°, the S-Shaped sole with 8° of bounce, provides an optimal balance of control and manoeuvrability. Sand Wedge lofts feature a similar S-Shaped sole but with more bounce at 10°, ideal for tackling bunker shots. Lofts of 58° and higher benefit from the C-Shaped sole with 8° bounce, designed for flops or escapes from challenging lies.

RRP: £159 (satin/black satin), £169 (raw)

Smart Sole Full-Face

Smart Sole Full-Face offers four specialised clubs, each designed for every type of short-game shot. Featuring upgraded, extra-wide Three-Tiered Sole Designs, Smart Sole Full-Face Wedges provide maximum forgiveness from anywhere on the course.

Smart Sole wedges features the largest faces ever on a Cleveland wedge, with a 46% larger striking area than the previous model, along with more MOI. New alignment lines at the bottom of the club face are used to help golfers keep the club centred behind the ball, with a square club face at impact, and find the sweet spot more often for purer contact.

Each model is tailored for certain situations around the green. The C model is ideal for chip shots or bump-and-runs. The G model is for full or partial approach shots. The S model is designed for easier sand saves. Rounding out the product line is an L model, engineered for high-arching shots into short-sided pin locations.

RRP: £139/£149 (st/gr)
