2024 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am odds, field: PGA picks, predictions from golf model that’s nailed 10 majors

Rory McIlroy, a 24-time PGA Tour winner, will make his season debut on the PGA Tour at the 2024 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am in California starting on Thursday. The tournament will be played at both Pebble Beach and Spyglass Hill Golf Course as the second signature event of the 2024 PGA season. The 80-golfer field will include amateurs competing for the first two rounds and its elevated status brings out a strong professional 2024 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am field. With a victory at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am 2024, McIlroy would become just the 26th 25-time PGA Tour winner.

McIlroy is the 15-2 favorite in the latest 2024 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am odds, followed by Scottie Scheffler, the world’s No. 1 golfer, at 8-1 odds. Viktor Hovland (12-1), Xander Schauffele (16-1) and Jordan Spieth (18-1) have the next lowest odds to win the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am 2024. Before locking in your 2024 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am picks, be sure to see the golf predictions and projected leaderboard from the proven computer model at SportsLine.

SportsLine’s proprietary model, built by DFS pro Mike McClure, has been red-hot since the PGA Tour resumed in June 2020. In fact, the model is up more than $9,000 on its best bets since the restart, nailing tournament after tournament.

McClure’s model predicted Jon Rahm would finish on top of the leaderboard at the 2023 Sentry Tournament of Champions and The American Express. At the 2023 Masters, the model was all over Rahm’s second career major victory heading into the weekend. Rahm was two strokes off the lead heading into the third round, but the model still projected him as the winner. It was the second straight Masters win for the model, which also nailed Scottie Scheffler winning in 2022.

In addition, the model included Nick Taylor in its best bets to win the 2023 RBC Canadian Open. That bet hit at +7000, and for the entire tournament, McClure’s best bets returned nearly $1,900. McClure’s best bets also included Jason Day (17-1) winning outright at the 2023 AT&T Byron Nelson and Rickie Fowler (14-1) finishing on top of the leaderboard at the 2023 Rocket Mortgage Classic.

This same model has also nailed a whopping 10 majors entering the weekend. Anyone who has followed it has seen massive returns.

Now that the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am 2024 field is set, SportsLine simulated the tournament 10,000 times, and the results were surprising. Head to SportsLine now to see the projected leaderboard.

Top 2024 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am predictions

One major surprise the model is calling for at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am 2024: McIlroy, a 24-time winner on the PGA Tour and the odds-on favorite this week, struggles and barely cracks the top five. McIlroy has only played the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am once in his career, missing the cut in 2018.

Pebble Beach is a course that demands precision, an area in which McIlroy struggled last season. In fact, McIlroy finished the 2022-23 season ranked 171st in driving accuracy (53.25%) and 79th in greens in regulation percentage (67.88%). He also finished last season ranked outside the top 50 in one-putt percentage (40.80%) and strokes gained: putting (0.164), which doesn’t bode well for his chances to finish on top of the leaderboard this week at the 2024 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.

Another surprise: Patrick Cantlay, a 20-1 longshot, makes a strong run at the title. Cantlay has a much better chance to win it all than his odds imply, so he’s a target for anyone looking for a huge payday. Cantlay, an eight-time PGA Tour winner, had 10 top-10 finishes in 21 events last season while making the cut 19 of 21 times.

The 31-year-old has finished 11th or better in four of six career AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am tournaments, including finishing T-4 in 2022, his most recent year competing in the event. He finished T-3 in 2021 while shooting 15-under-par in both showings. Cantlay was third on the PGA Tour in total strokes gained last season, including third in Tee-to-Green and fourth in Off-the-Tee. McClure sees strong value in Cantlay at 20-1 odds to continue his strong play at Pebble Beach this weekend. See who else to pick here.

How to make 2024 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am picks

The model is also targeting four other golfers with odds of 20-1 or longer to make a strong run at the title. Anyone who backs these longshots could hit it big. You can only see the model’s picks here.
