St Andrews Links Launches New ‘Home of Golf’ App to Enhance Golfer Experience
A new Home of Golf app has officially been launched by St Andrews Links Trust, representing a key milestone in the organisation’s commitment to enhancing the golfer experience through digital innovation.
Designed as the ultimate companion for anyone playing the world-famous Links courses in St Andrews, the app brings together a suite of features to support golfers before, during and after their round.
Among its standout features are; digital course guides providing hole-by-hole information, live course updates and maintenance notifications, streamlined Old Course Ballot process including saved golfer details, and integrated Clere Golf technology that enables greenkeepers to digitally map live pin positions which feeds directly into the app.
For local links ticketholders, the app also includes key functionality such as golf booking powered by Lightspeed, and access to a digital Links Ticket powered by GolfClubSubs, offering a seamless experience to booking and playing golf.

The app is designed to enhance the entire golfer experience that local golfers and visitors alike have when visiting our site.

Since its initial launch, the Home of Golf app has been downloaded almost 10,000 times, with early adoption focused on local golfers who now benefit from in-app tee time booking via the platform.
The app has been developed in close collaboration with app and digital experience agency Shockoe, who led on design and development. Insights from a dedicated digital feedback panel comprising of local golfers have also been central to the design and features in this first release, helping to guide future updates and enhancements. The app was recently recognised as a Silver winner for “Best User Experience” at the 2025 Lovie Awards.
The Home of Golf app is a major step forward in a wider digital transformation journey at St Andrews Links. This follows the introduction of an updated online booking system and the launch of the Singles Daily Draw in 2024, reinforcing the Trust’s focus on accessibility and innovation.
The Home of Golf app is available for download now on iOS and Android devices.
