World’s No. 1 Range Technology Celebrates the Origins of The Home of Golf with exclusive month-long competition that offers second year of virtual Old Course Reversed routing

(Dallas, Tex.)  — Toptracer, the world’s number one range technology and official range technology of The Home of Golf, announces the exclusive Old Course Reversed competition will return to its partner ranges around the globe from April 16 – May 17.

In 2025, the month-long virtual competition on Old Course Reversed at St Andrews Links garnered 41,354 rounds played by golfers from over 35 countries. In 2026, both Toptracer and St Andrews Links look to bring the competition to even more golfers around the world for a chance to win a tee time on the actual Old Course Reversed in 2027. To enter, golfers can visit any Toptracer Range to register and play The Old Course Reversed between Thursday, April 16 through Sunday, May 17.
“To have one of the most unique experiences at golf’s most iconic destination back on our platform is an incredible privilege,” says Scott Blevins, Toptracer President. “Bringing a rare version of St Andrews to golfers around the world is an opportunity to reach new players and help drive traffic to our customers’ facilities.”
In the 19th century the Old Course at St Andrews Links’ 18-hole routing was typically played in a clockwise direction, starting from the current first tee and finishing at the current 17th green. Around 1870, Old Tom Morris, who served as the Keeper of the Greens at the time, separated the seventeenth green from the first green creating the current counterclockwise routing we know today. For almost a century thereafter, the Old Course was frequently played in both directions on alternating days and weeks until the counterclockwise layout became the preferred choice.

St Andrews Links Trust will again bring back the reversed routing for only three days this week for those lucky enough to hold one of the most sought-after tee times in golf.
“Old Course Reversed is a part of golf lore and coveted by golfers fortunate enough to be in St Andrews on the select days when the routing is in play”, says James Ralley, Commercial Director at St Andrews Links Trust. “We are proud to have Toptracer as a partner in telling our story to a larger golf audience and making this historic routing available to all who visit their local driving range bays around the world.”
In 2022, Toptracer joined forces with St Andrews Links Trust for a long-term partnership that included the installation of Toptracer Range Technology at The St Andrews Links Golf Academy, the range facility at The Home of Golf. As part of the partnership, Toptracer became the only platform where golfers can play the Old Course at the driving range – and in 2025 there were more than 800,000 rounds played at The Home of Golf on Toptracer Range sites around the world.
