CARMEL, Calif. – Set against the dramatic backdrop of the Santa Lucia Mountains, The Preserve Golf Club—an acclaimed Tom Fazio-designed masterpiece—will host two marquee amateur golf tournaments this October, drawing top talent from around the country.
October 15–17, the Stocker Cup, established in 1991, returns to The Preserve to honor Peter Stocker, a visionary real estate developer and founding partner of The Santa Lucia Preserve. Now a cornerstone of the amateur golf calendar, the event welcomes a distinguished field, including defending Stocker Cup champion Parker Sisk, who edged out runners-up Sean McInnis and Jake Spellerberg, who finished a stroke behind at -5.
This 54-hole stroke-play tournament will be held alongside a best-ball competition. Each of the 56 invited mid-amateurs will be paired with a low-handicap amateur partner, either selected by the tournament committee or invited at the player’s request. Later in the month, on October 26–27, The Preserve Golf Club will host the Preserve Golf Club Collegiate. The event, organized in partnership with Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, will bring together 11 collegiate programs, including Cal Poly, Oregon, Northwestern, the University of San Diego, Ohio State, and Duke. Defending champions BYU will also return, and BYU alumnus Bobby Clampett will speak at a player event.
Teams will compete in a 54-hole format, with five players per team and the best four scores counting in each round.
