The Clark Twins Are Headed To The Ivy League

Two positions. One team. And a bond that sharpens everything.

Baseball has always been a shared language for Miles and James Clark. As twin brothers, they’ve grown up side by side—competing, training, pushing each other. But their story is about work ethic, purpose, and a commitment to doing things the right way.

This fall, they’ll take that same drive to Princeton University, where they’re both committed to playing Division I baseball. And while most players would see that as the finish line, the Clarks are just getting started.

Choosing Princeton: A Decision Rooted in Family Values

For both Miles and James, the decision to choose the Ivy League was about more than baseball.

“Honestly, just my parents early in my life have instilled the importance of academics to me,” Miles said. “To commit to a school where I can have a backup plan if baseball doesn’t work—but the Ivy League and the high level of academics, that’s what drew us.”

James echoed that perspective, reflecting on what made Princeton feel like home.

“I went up there on my visit, fell in love with the campus, the coaches, the players, the whole environment,” he said. “So I thought it was just a really good fit.”

Miles in Center Field

Miles has become one of the most impactful outfielders on the circuit this year. His instincts, range, and explosive first step have allowed him to cover incredible ground and make game-altering plays.

“I try to get my feet moving before the pitch is thrown and get the best read possible,” he said. “I just run through the situation in my head and make sure I know where to throw the ball if it’s hit to me, and what tendency the batter has so I can cheat a certain way.”

That awareness has real consequences for opposing hitters. According to Miles, they’ve started to change their approach.

“I would say they try to stay out of the air as much as possible and try to hit ground balls and line drives. Less pop flies.”

His most memorable defensive moment? A jaw-dropping catch in the championship game in Omaha against Team Arizona.

“Ball was hit over my head,” he said. “I ran it down and made the play. We ended up winning the championship.”

James at Shortstop

While Miles dominates the outfield, James is the anchor in the infield, a shortstop with sharp footwork, consistent hands, and a mature approach at the plate.

“I really don’t make a lot of fielding errors,” he said. “I’m pretty sure-handed.”

He’s been hitting close to .380 this season, but his focus is always on approach, not numbers.

“I just try and walk in there with all the confidence in the world,” James said. “Have faith in my ability as a player, trust in my practice and preparation, and just go out there and have fun.”

When asked what part of his game he’s working to elevate, he pointed to one key area: arm strength. “Getting my arm a little stronger is something I’ve been focused on.”

The SQAIRZ Effect

Both Miles and James credit SQAIRZ cleats with helping them play faster, morebalanced, and more confidently. And for athletes who rely on explosive starts, sharp cuts, and total control, that advantage matters.

“It’s definitely one of the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever worn,” Miles said. “I feel like I have a lot of grip and that I’m able to move a lot easier. It’s light on my feet.”

At first, the roomier toe box surprised him.

“I thought they felt too big… but once I started moving around, it felt normal. Very comfortable.”

James noticed the same thing, especially on defense.

“My balance is probably the main thing. It’s easy to switch directions with the shoes. Definitely more balanced than normal when I’m wearing a different cleat.”

Every SQAIRZ cleat is designed around biomechanics from our Smart Traction™ outsole to our anatomical midfoot support. The roomier base and heel stabilizer create a stronger connection with the ground, helping players generate more force and change direction with confidence.

The results speak for themselves:

“I actually hit a new PR in exit velo swinging in Omaha wearing them,” Miles said. “104mph. Before the shoes, it was mid-90s.”

They translated to real, measurable performance.

How They Train

Miles leans into speed work and outfield drills, often running long distances to simulate real defensive movement. James focuses on strength training in the offseason, then shifts toward quickness and agility as the season nears.

No matter the time of year, their edge comes from consistency. Reps. Discipline. Accountability. And when asked how they stay locked in all year long:

“Just always putting in the extra hours,” Miles said. “Not quitting. Just keep on working no matter the result.”

“Take no reps off,” James added. “Stay focused in every single one.”

A Bond That Elevates Them Both

What makes the Clarks special is their connection. They know how to challenge each other. Support each other. Push one another through plateaus. On and off the field.

“He knows me more than I know myself,” Miles said. “He’s able to help me both in the classroom and just in general in life and on the field.”

They’re quick to joke, quick to praise, and always locked in when it counts.

Looking Ahead

As they head into their final high school season and prepare for the Ivy League, the Clark twins aren’t slowing down.

Miles is chasing more consistency at the plate. James is building strength and arm velocity across the diamond. But the foundation remains the same: fun, focus, and relentless effort.

And now, they’re doing all of it in SQAIRZ GFP™.

From blistering reads in center field to explosive lateral movement at shortstop, the Clark twins trust SQAIRZ to keep them balanced, fast, and locked in on every play. The gains are measurable—Miles hit a personal-best 104 mph exit velocity wearing his SQAIRZ cleats, up from the mid-90s. That kind of performance boost is tech-driven.

They both wear the GFP™metal spikes, and both called SQAIRZ “the most comfortable cleats” they’ve ever worn. With a roomier toe box for natural foot splay, a Smart Traction™ system for grip, and biomechanically engineered balance features, these cleats are built for athletes who move with intent and play with purpose.

If you’re serious about performance, comfort, and gaining that extra edge when it matters most…

Start with your cleats. Start with SQAIRZ GFP™
