Costa Mesa, California — Students and PAYNTR Golf introduce a collaboration born from a shared belief: golf is more than a sport, it’s a lifelong study.
Built on a shared appreciation for craftsmanship, curiosity, and the traditions that continue to shape the sport, the collection invites golfers to embrace every round as an opportunity to learn. Because the greatest players aren’t defined by what they know, they’re defined by their willingness to keep studying.
The collaboration introduces two original footwear silhouettes: Students by PAYNTR Golf WT and Students by PAYNTR Golf PT, each exploring a different chapter of the game’s story.
The first silhouette Students by PAYNTR Golf PT celebrates the memories collected along every golfer’s journey. Integrated into the shoe is a magnetic, removable ball marker, allowing players to carry the marker onto the green or swap it with one collected from a favorite course. Whether it’s a hometown muni, a bucket-list destination, or the site of an unforgettable round, the interchangeable marker transforms the shoe into a living archive of the places and moments that define the game.
The second silhouette Students by Payntr WT looks beyond the fairway, drawing inspiration from childhood field trips spent exploring tide pools and aquariums. Premium faux stingray leather and thoughtfully considered textures evoke the beauty of marine life, celebrating the curiosity and sense of discovery that first teaches us to observe the world and ultimately, the game.
The experience extends beyond the footwear with “The Field Guide to Golf,” a custom-designed collector’s shoe box inspired by classic field manuals and encyclopedias. More than packaging, it serves as a symbolic guidebook to the game, celebrating golf’s fundamentals, traditions, etiquette, and the timeless lessons found through patience, discipline, and practice. Like any great field guide, it is meant to be studied, revisited, and passed along.
To celebrate the launch, Students and PAYNTR Golf will debut a short film on Monday, August 3rd, introducing viewers to the world of the collaboration through The Maestro, a professor of the game portrayed by a very special guest. Acting as both storyteller and guide, The Maestro explores the rituals, philosophies, and quiet moments that make golf unlike any other pursuit, reminding us that mastery begins with humility and that every golfer remains a student of the game.
The Students and PAYNTR Golf collaboration is a celebration of the places we’ve played, the lessons we’ve learned, and the endless pursuit that keeps us coming back.
