Lynn, PhD, an internationally recognized biomechanics researcher and human movement expert, has joined the company’s Medical Advisory Board.
Dr. Lynn is one of the leading authorities in ground reaction force analysis and force-plate research in sport. For more than 25 years, his work has focused on how humans interact with the ground and how footwear and movement patterns influence performance, efficiency, and injury risk. His research spans orthopedic biomechanics, athletic performance, and applied sport science, with extensive experience in both golf and baseball.
“I’ve been studying how human beings interact with the ground for more than 25 years,” said Dr. Lynn. “In almost all human movements, the interaction between our feet and the ground is the only place we can generate the external forces necessary to change speed, direction, or motion. Footwear plays a profound role in that process.”
Dr. Lynn’s academic and applied research has examined walking patterns in older adults and the development of knee osteoarthritis. His work has also focused on compensatory movement strategies that increase injury risk. More recently, his research has centered on golfers and baseball hitters, where ground reaction forces and pressure patterns directly influence speed and efficiency.
“I saw this firsthand in my own golf game,” he said. “My initial testing of SQAIRZ golf shoes produced a 2+ MPH increase in clubhead speed, nearly 7 MPH more ball speed, and approximately 18 yards of additional carry distance. Scott K. Lynn, PhD, is an internationally recognized expert in biomechanics and human movement science. He holds a PhD and MSc in Orthopedic Biomechanics from Queen’s University in Ontario, Canada, and completed a post-doctoral fellowship in spine biomechanics at the University of Waterloo.
Dr. Lynn is currently a Professor of Kinesiology (Biomechanics) at California State University, where he also serves as Co-Director of the Center for Sport Performance.
