Hawaiʻi and Hawaiʻi Pacific co-host the 54-hole men’s tournament Nov. 4–5
KALAUAO, Oʻahu – The University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa and Hawaiʻi Pacific University will co-host the Pearl at Kalauao Invitational Nov. 4-5, bringing an 18-team men’s field to Oʻahu for 54 holes of stroke play.
The tournament returns to Pearl at Kalauao for the second consecutive year and will close out the fall schedules for all participating teams. The field includes collegiate programs from across the country, giving Hawaiʻi’s players a chance to compete against teams they don’t typically see during the season.
“The Pearl at Kalauao Invitational is a great opportunity for our players to compete against some of the best collegiate golfers in the country,” said Ed Kageyama, PGA general manager of Pearl at Kalauao and head coach of the Hawaiʻi Pacific University men’s and women’s golf teams. “Pearl has a long history of hosting professional and amateur golf, and we’re excited to welcome the players, teams and fans to experience the renovated course and clubhouse.”

“I have played a lot of courses throughout my PGA TOUR career. Pearl at Kalauao’s renovation is incredible,” said Scott Simpson, a seven-time PGA TOUR winner and current University of Hawaiʻi men’s golf coach. “The course remains playable for the average golfer, but the greens will test the strategy and precision of the best players. There are so many risk-reward decisions, which makes each round fun and challenging. The new greens, with their shapes and contours, remind me of the Alister MacKenzie greens at Augusta National and Pasatiempo. You really need to plan your way around Pearl to score your best.”
Previously known as the Hoakalei Country Club Invitational and Kapolei Invitational, the tournament returned in 2025 after several years away and moved to Pearl at Kalauao. This is the second consecutive year that the tournament will feature an 18-team field at Pearl.
