-The Midsize (MID) design is purposefully positioned between the 360 and original model grips, providing an optimal new option-

ORANGE COUNTY, CA – Dragon Golf, a prominent leader in performance-driven golf grip technology, has announced the introduction of its newest grip designed specifically for players who prefer a slightly larger grip size. This innovation aims to enhance comfort, decrease hand movement, and reduce grip tension. The MID models are designed for customers seeking an option between the 360 and Original product lines, featuring a total diameter that is 20% larger than existing DragonSkin grip models.

The design and development process not only considered the overall dimensions of the MID models but also worked to create a harmonious design that blends the unique characteristics of the 360 grips at the butt with select features from the Original at the tip.

The grip end features a 360-degree pattern that improves grip quality and enables easy grip changes. The tip side utilizes the Original design, enhanced by its tactile thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) material. This tacky surface is intentionally engineered to provide a secure and firm hold, promoting greater stability and control. The central section of these grips is engineered to mirror the attributes of the Original design, ensuring balanced performance and optimal tactile experience.

The elongated, scale-shaped convex pattern is designed to minimize excess weight in the Mid grips, resulting in improved weight distribution that helps alleviate user fatigue.

Differences in the Scale-Shaped (Convex) Patterns:

Each DragonSkin Grip model—Original, 360, and MID—features unique specifications regarding convex height.

Original: The division occurs at the central transition, with measurements of approximately 0.5 mm on the grip and side, transitioning to 0.3 mm on the tip side.

360: The diameter transitions from approximately 0.5 mm near the grip end to about one-third of the length, tapering progressively toward the tip where it measures roughly 0.3 mm.

MID: The diameter measures approximately 0.5 mm from the grip end to the midpoint, gradually tapering to about 0.4 mm at the tip. Compared to other models, the MID is designed with a slightly higher convex height on the tip side.

Marcy Kamoda, CEO of DragonSkin Grips, stated, “DragonSkin Grips are meticulously engineered to optimize performance through innovative grip control. The introduction of our new MID grips targets a significant market segment, and we are confident golfers will value their performance attributes, reliability, and durability.”

Characteristics of the DragonSkinGrip Scale Grip

The scale grip is designed by giving directionality to the protrusions and arranging them according to their respective purposes, achieving greater grip strength and an improved feel.

At the grip end, the protrusions are arranged symmetrically to provide grip strength against left–right twisting forces where power is applied. On the tip end, they are aligned in the longitudinal direction to enhance grip strength against the pulling direction of the club in the area held with the hands, allowing a sufficient grip even with a soft touch.

This arrangement of the tip and end sides improves overall stability and comfort of the grip. Club control improves and hand fatigue lessens during swings.

Kamoda, a Japanese native and business associate of Estes, boasts a global golf industry experience. In the United States, he founded a boutique golf equipment company that has earned high regard. Serving as the COO, he spearheaded a PGA Tour program that accumulated over one hundred international professional wins, built a robust sales team, expanded retail distribution, and created an award-winning line of golf equipment.

Kamoda and Estes introduced the Dragon Skin Golf Grip to satisfy the stringent requirements of top PGA professionals who demand peak performance in challenging conditions. Moreover, the Dragon Skin Golf Grip combines distinctive style with functionality. Directional scale-like protrusions, reminiscent of dragon skin, are featured on both the lead and trail hands, improving grip orientation and consistency.
