The 2026 PGA Tour season has just one tournament left: the Tour Championship at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, which carries a $40 million purse distributed among the top 30 golfers in the FedEx Cup standings. However, big money is already being sent out at the onset of this week for FedEx Cup bonuses, which are being awarded after the BMW Championship for the first time.
The winner of this week’s Tour Championship will also be crowned the FedEx Cup champion, a title Tommy Fleetwood is seeking to defend. As he proved last year, winning at the right time can turn a disappointing season into a FedEx Cup championship year, but as the PGA Tour also wanted to reward season-long excellence, it has created a $100 million bonus pool from which massive checks will be sent to those atop the FedEx Cup standings coming out of the year’s penultimate event.
This is in addition to the $20 million purses that were on the line for the St. Jude Championship and BMW Championship, the first two legs of the FedEx Cup Playoffs. In total, $180 million will be awarded to the best golfers in the world over a three-week span.
Scottie Scheffler once again enters the Tour Championship at No. 1 in the FedEx Cup standings, and for his consistency at the top all year, he earned a $23 million bonus — $22 million in cash and a $1 million deferred payment to his pension fund. The rest of the top 10 players in the FedEx Cup standings earned over $1 million combined in cash and deferred bonuses.
Wyndham Clark’s win over the weekend at the BMW Championship jumped him from fifth to third in the FedEx Cup, which not only earned him $3.6 million for the win in Bellerive but also increased his bonus payout from $5.4 million to $8 million.
