The Monster Golf Club Welcomes New Club Manager

Monticello, N.Y. –The Monster Golf Club at Resorts World Catskills in Monticello, New York recently welcomed Patrick Boucher as club manager. Boucher will oversee golf operations, agronomy, as well as golf-related sales and marketing.

A 20-plus-year golf industry veteran, Boucher began his career working at several member-owned equity clubs in central Connecticut. He joined the Troon family in 2006 as an assistant golf professional at Lake of Isles at Foxwoods in North Stonington, Conn. He spent seven-plus years at Lake of Isles honing his management skills and eventually moved into the club’s director of golf position for three seasons. Boucher then moved to Potomac Shores Golf Club in Prince William County, Virginia serving as director of club operations. During his tenure, Potomac Shores was recognized as one of the “Top Ten New Courses in the U.S.” by Golf Digest magazine in 2015. For the past eight years, Boucher served as general manager at Raritan Valley, a member-owned club in Bridgewater, New Jersey.

A PGA of America member and graduate of Eastern Connecticut State University, Boucher has had a passion for the club business and golf industry for as long as he can remember. His father and uncle were also both PGA members. He prides himself on being a hands-on manager with strong team-building skills.

“The Monster has always been one of those courses you hear about in the same breath as the great American classics, and I’m excited to be a part of the next chapter of what Rees Jones and this team have built,” said Patrick Boucher. “Golf in the beautiful, historic Catskills is back, and I want every golfer who visits — from the most seasoned pro to the beginner — to leave knowing this is the best experience they’ve had anywhere.”

New York’s Catskill Mountains region has recently reemerged as a premier golf destination. Resorts World Catskills invested $40 million and partnered with acclaimed architect Rees Jones to re-imagine The Monster Golf Club, honoring elements of the original Concord Monster Course while creating a modern championship layout. The former Concord Monster Course, once listed as a Golf Digest Top 100 golf course, had been closed for play since 2015 before Jones was brought in to completely redesign the golf course in 2018. During the nearly five-year project, Jones used holes and corridors from the former Monster Golf Course, originally designed by Joe Finger in 1963, and the Old International Course to create the all-new 18-hole layout. The new Monster was unveiled for public play in fall 2023. The new Jones-design can play up to 7,327 yards from the ‘Monster Tees’ at a par of 72. The Monster Golf Club has also become a gathering place for community and charitable events, previously hosting the Legends of the LPGA Celebrity Charity Golf Tournament.

The Monster Golf Club at Resorts World Catskills is located approximately two hours from Manhattan, making it an ideal destination to escape the hustle and bustle of the city. For more information or to book a tee time, visit https://rwcatskills.com/monster-golf-club.
