Following a successful first season, electric trolley brand Motocaddy has extended its partnership as the Official Golf Trolley Partner of the Clutch Pro Tour and its associated Amateur and Junior Tours into the 2024 season.

Motocaddy will support golf’s next generational talent, along with other leading amateur events, which provide a perfect stepping stone into the professional game.

“The Clutch Pro Tour is an official Feeder Tour to The European Challenge Tour and DP World Tour and we’re delighted to have the chance to support these amazingly talented golfers as part of their professional journey,” said Oliver Churcher, Motocaddy Marketing Director. “Last year we saw lots of players choosing to use our trolleys across the circuit and it’s a really important partnership to everyone at Motocaddy,” he added.
Motocaddy will have branding and course signage, along with product placement at every event of the busy schedule. The brand will also be included in the comprehensive promotion of the events across the Clutch Pro Tour social media channels and digital marketing. In addition to supporting the Tour, Motocaddy will also provide a new 2024 M-Series electric trolley and a PRO 3000 Laser Rangefinder to eight new brand ambassadors in the Tier 1 schedule who will join #TEAMMOTOCADDY alongside four continuing Clutch Pro Tour ambassadors.
Last year, two members of the team earned full European Challenge Tour status for this year after finishing first (George Bloor) and second (Curtis Knipes) on the Order of Merit.
Designed to give developing professional golfers the opportunity to compete at some of the UK’s top championship courses, the Clutch Pro Tour features sixteen 54-hole tournaments where players can also now gain Official Golf World Ranking points for the first time.
The 2024 season kicked off last week at Heythrop Park, near Oxford with Motocaddy brand ambassador Olly Huggins from Frilford Heath Golf Club claiming victory by a single shot on 12 under par, his first professional victory following a stellar amateur career which included captaincy of the England team.
The second event of the season was completed this week at Brocket Hall in Hatfield with three Motocaddy ambassadors – Jake Ayres and Jake McGoldrick joining Huggins, who continues his rich vein of form at the start of the season to finish T2 on -6.
As part of the sponsorship, Motocaddy will title sponsor its own event – The Motocaddy Masters – at Harleyford Golf Club in Marlow from 10-12 September, which is the final event of the regular season providing players with a last chance to qualify for the Tour Championship.“We thank Motocaddy for their continued support and I know it gave the players involved in the Brand Ambassador scheme last season an extra boost, including two of the team topping the order of merit,” said Clutch Pro Tour co-founder and Director Tom Hayward. “They’re a world-renowned global brand which adds extra gravitas to our events, and we look forward to another successful year.”Motocaddy has also renewed its partnership with the Elite Amateur Golf Group to support all of it competitions this year, including the Singles Scratch Matchplay; the 4BBB Scratch Knockout; the Foursomes Knockout; and the Elite Amateur Golf League. In addition, the brand will also continue its capacity as Official Trolley Partner of the Trilby Tour and PlayMoreGolf this year.

TRILBY TOUR BACKING

Solidifying its support for male and female amateur golfers across the UK, Motocaddy will again provide electric trolleys from its game-enhancing range as prizes for both category winners of four Championship events on this year’s Trilby Tour.

These take place at Kilnwick Percy in May, The Springs Resort in June, Saddleworth Golf Club in July and Dundonald Links in August. On top of that, the brand will also award a new 2024 M5 GPS electric trolley and Pro-Series bag to the winner of the Grand Final at Dundonald Links in Scotland in late September.

PLAYMOREGOLF PARTNERSHIP

Motocaddy partnered with PlayMoreGolf two years ago in an agreement that saw the brand promote its products, plus key health and performance benefits of trolley use to a growing number of golfers across the UK.

As the first flexible scheme of its kind in the UK, PlayMoreGolf links almost 15,000 golfers to more than 250 golf clubs – including a host of top-quality courses in England and Wales – to offer its members more choice, convenience, and value, whilst still able to enjoy benefits associated with a traditional golf club membership.

“We’ve had successful partnerships with the Elite Amateur Golf Group, the Trilby Tour and PlaymoreGolf for a number of years, which allows us to speak to more golfers of all ages and abilities and in doing so, we’re spreading the message of how much our products can help them play better, play more often, and most importantly have more fun on the golf course,” added Churcher.
