Masters 2024 Predictions, Odds, Picks, Props: Golf Insider Liking Sam Burns At Augusta National

Tony Finau is one of the most accomplished golfers still chasing his first major title. The 34-year-old has six PGA Tour victories and has nearly earned his first major victory, resulting in four top-five finishes. Could that all change at the 2024 Masters, beginning on Thursday, April 11 at Augusta National Golf Club? Finau has made the cut in his first seven events this season, including finishing sixth at the Farmers Insurance Open in January. Finau is a 36-1 longshot to win in the 2024 Masters odds, but is he worth including in your 2024 Masters predictions to don the green jacket leading into the first major of the 2024 PGA Tour season?

Scottie Scheffler is the favorite at 5-1 in the latest Masters odds 2024. Rory McIlroy is next at 10-1, while Jon Rahm, the defending Masters champion, is 13-1. Viktor Hovland, another top golfer still seeking his first major crown, had 21-1 odds, so could this be his moment and an option to include in 2024 Masters Tournament picks? Before locking in any 2024 Masters picks or golf predictions, you need to see what proven golf betting expert Patrick McDonald has to say, considering his recent track record.

McDonald joined CBS Sports as a golf writer in 2022 after stops at NBC Sports and RyderCup.com. Covering the sport from a broader perspective, McDonald still likes to dip his toes into the betting pools on a weekly basis between the PGA Tour, DP World Tour, and more. Featured weekly on the Early Wedge, he has given out numerous winners already in 2024, including Jake Knapp (50-1) at the Mexico Open.

Now, McDonald has focused his attention on the 2024 Masters field and has locked in his best bets, top sleepers and favorites to avoid. You can see only see them at SportsLine.

Top 2024 Masters expert picks

One stunning prediction from McDonald: He is high on Sam Burns, even though he is a 55-1 longshot. The 27-year-old has five PGA Tour victories in just 143 events, winning at least one tournament in the last three seasons. Burns has made the cut in his first seven tournaments of the 2024 PGA Tour season, including three top-10 finishes. The former LSU standout has gone toe-to-toe with the best in the sport in high-pressure moments, including besting World No. 1 golfer Scottie Scheffler in a playoff to win the Charles Schwab Challenge in 2022.

Burns is one of the most balanced golfers on the PGA Tour with an above-average score in the majority of statistics to begin the 2024 PGA Tour season. He is 20th in total strokes gained and 17th in total driving through his first seven tournaments. Burns ranks fifth in scoring average and eighth in birdie average. See who else to back here.

How to make 2024 Masters picks, bets

McDonald is also jumping on an underdog who’s had plenty of success at Augusta National but is still listed at more than 100-1 to win it all. You can only see his 2024 Masters picks at SportsLine.

So, which players should you target or avoid for the 2024 Masters, and which proven golfer in the Masters 2024 field could bring a monster payday of almost 100-1? Check out the odds below then visit SportsLine to see Patrick McDonald’s top picks for the Masters 2024, all from the expert who has been red-hot on his PGA Tour picks this season and find out.
