13 Teams to Participate in Four-Day Event at The Golf Club at Cinco Ranch in Texas

DALLAS — For the fourth consecutive year, Arcis Golf—a premier owner and operator of 88 private, resort, and daily fee courses in the United States—will serve as Presenting Sponsor of the National Women’s Collegiate Golf Championship. The 31st annual event, conducted by the Women In Golf Foundation, Inc. (WIGF), will take place Sunday, March 29, through Wednesday, April 1, at The Golf Club at Cinco Ranch, an Arcis Golf facility in Katy, Texas.

Since 2024, the Championship has been contested at Cinco Ranch, a par-71, 6,922-yard course designed by architect Carlton Gipson and located within the master-planned Cinco Ranch community west of Houston. The course has been recognized as one of the “Top 25 Best of Texas” by Gulf Coast Golfer.

Thirteen collegiate teams will compete for the Renee Powell Cup, awarded to the Division I champion and named in honor of Renee Powell, the second African American woman to compete on the LPGA Tour and a 2017 inductee into the PGA of America Hall of Fame. Howard University (Washington, D.C.) returns as the two-time defending Division I champion.

The 2026 field also includes: Alabama State University, Central State University, Chicago State University, Delaware State University, Fisk University, Jackson State University, Lincoln University, Prairie View A&M University, Savannah State University, Southern University, Texas Southern University, and Texas Wesleyan University.

Lincoln University (Jefferson City, Mo.), one of five Division II programs in the field, is led by Divya Gunasegar, the Division II individual medalist at last year’s event. Edward Waters University (Jacksonville, Fla.) captured the 2025 Division II team title and the LaJean Gould Cup, named for the WIGF founder and president.

Competition will consist of three rounds played on Tuesday and Wednesday (March 31–April 1), with an awards ceremony scheduled for Wednesday afternoon to present both the Powell and Gould Cups.

Headquartered in Atlanta, the Women In Golf Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to expanding opportunities for women and girls in golf. Through collegiate and junior golf initiatives, WIGF focuses on leadership development, life skills, and competitive opportunities. To date, the Foundation has contributed more than $340,000 to collegiate women’s golf programs and has served more than 2,000 women and girls nationwide.

As part of the Championship, WIGF will again host a professional development session for participating student-athletes. Industry leaders—including representatives from Arcis Golf—will share career insights, best practices, and personal experiences to help prepare participants for their professional futures.

The theme of the 2026 Championship is “Champion Your Power. Elevate Your Presence.”

“The Women In Golf Foundation is proud to continue growing our partnership with Arcis Golf,” said LaJean Gould, Founder and President of WIGF. “Together, we are creating opportunities that help these talented young women build confidence, leadership skills, and the professional tools needed to succeed both on and off the course.”

Blake Walker, Founder, Chairman, and CEO of Arcis Golf, emphasized the importance of inclusivity and investment in the next generation.

“Our partnership with WIGF reflects our shared commitment to making golf more accessible, representative, and meaningful,” Walker said. “This Championship uniquely combines competition, mentorship, and professional development to create lasting impact.”

The event holds special meaning for Linnet Carty, Arcis Golf’s Senior Director of Community Engagement and a former WIGF board member (2018–2022).

“For more than 30 years, the National Women’s Collegiate Championship has created opportunities for young women to learn, compete, and grow through golf,” Carty said. “Arcis Golf is proud to support this enduring event, which continues to elevate women in both the sport and the business of golf.”

Earlier this year, Arcis Golf sponsored the Arcis-HBCU Golf Championship at The Club at Weston Hills in Weston, Fla., featuring 17 men’s and women’s teams from Historically Black Colleges and Universities. The event included a youth golf clinic, alumni tournament, career expo, and educational programming. Arcis Golf provides HBCU and WIGF student-athletes with complimentary access to clubs within its network to practice and hone their skills. This ensures they have dedicated places to practice and play beyond the tournament schedule and/or their collegiate home courses.

In addition, Arcis Golf supports numerous national philanthropic organizations, including Els for Autism Foundation, United States Adaptive Golf Alliance, and Love Hope Strength Foundation, along with local charities in the communities it serves.
