AVA Golf Announces Garmin Golf Premium API™ Integration to Turn Golf Data into Personalized Improvement Plans

NEW YORK – AVA Golf, the first platform designed to transform golf performance data into a personalized video improvement plan, has integrated the Garmin Golf Premium API™ so golfers can connect their Garmin® golf data directly to the AVA Golf platform and “Get Better. Faster.”

Syncing data from compatible Garmin golf devices will bring information from on-course rounds and practice sessions into a single performance profile. AVA Golf then analyzes that data to identify the areas having the greatest impact on a golfer’s performance and delivers personalized instructional recommendations designed to help address them.

The integration reflects AVA Golf’s core philosophy: golfers do not necessarily need more data. They need to understand what their data means and what they should do with it.

“Garmin has done an incredible job giving golfers access to the data they need to understand their performance,” said JR Charles, founder and CEO of AVA Golf. “We build on that data by looking across a golfer’s whole game, identifying what is actually costing them strokes and turning those insights into a personalized plan for improvement.”

Garmin users can seamlessly bring on-course rounds into the AVA Golf platform, including shot locations, fairways, greens, distances, penalties and scoring data. Garmin Approach® R10 and Garmin Approach® R50 users can also integrate launch monitor practice sessions into AVA Golf, including metrics such as ball speed, club path, spin, carry distance and more.

By combining practice and on-course data, AVA Golf can give golfers a more complete view of their performance. Rather than evaluating a range session or a round in isolation, the platform connects the two to help golfers understand whether changes made during practice are translating to the course.

The Garmin integration is part of AVA Golf’s broader strategy of helping golfers get more from devices they already own. The platform connects with existing golf technologies to create an evolving improvement plan.

AVA Golf is organized around three steps: Activities, Performance and Improve.

Activities begin with data collected through connected devices and platforms during rounds and practice sessions. AVA Golf then analyzes that information to identify performance trends and the areas that have the greatest influence on scoring. Finally, the platform delivers personalized instructional content based on those findings, helping golfers turn data into purposeful practice.

As a golfer’s performance changes, AVA Golf’s recommendations change with it, creating an ongoing progression rather than a one-time assessment.

The platform’s instructional library includes lessons from nationally recognized teaching professionals, including Golf Digest “50 Best Teachers in America” Cheryl Anderson, GOLF Magazine “Top 100 Teachers in America” Mike Malizia and Jason Birnbaum, who coaches four-time PGA TOUR winner Chris Gotterup, along with instructors from the PGA TOUR Golf Academy and other leading teachers.

“Having access to the right data is only the beginning,” said Charles. “The real value comes from understanding what that data is telling you and knowing what to do next. That is what AVA Golf is designed to provide.”

The integration represents another step toward AVA Golf’s vision of becoming the connective layer between the growing number of technologies golfers use to track and improve their games.

“Devices like Garmins give golfers excellent data,” said Charles. “We believe the next step is making that information actionable.”
