PGA TOUR returns to El Cardonal November 2–8 as Diamante celebrates a landmark in Mexican golf and previews its next era with Legacy Club and the Tiger Woods–designed Legacy Cours
CABO SAN LUCAS, Mexico — Diamante Cabo San Lucas, Mexico’s premier luxury golf destination with one of the country’s most distinguished golf portfolios, will welcome the PGA TOUR back to the Tiger Woods–designed El Cardonal for the 20th anniversary edition of the World Wide Technology Championship, Nov. 2–8, 2026.
The milestone championship will bring 120 of the world’s top professional golfers to Los Cabos for four rounds of competition, with tournament-week programming beginning Monday, Nov. 2. It will mark the fourth consecutive year the World Wide Technology Championship has been contested at Diamante since the event moved to Los Cabos in 2023.
First played in 2007, the World Wide Technology Championship made history as the first PGA TOUR event held in Mexico and the TOUR’s first official event staged outside the United States or Canada. Through 19 editions, the championship has welcomed 33 Mexican professionals for 95 total appearances. Following the 2026 tournament, it will have awarded more than $118 million in prize money—the most of any golf tournament in Latin American history. Its international broadcast will reach more than 220 countries and territories.
“The 20th anniversary of the World Wide Technology Championship is a meaningful moment for golf in Mexico, and Diamante is honored to help celebrate all that this tournament has achieved,” said Ken Jowdy, CEO and founder of Diamante Cabo San Lucas and Legacy Properties, LLC. “Since welcoming the PGA TOUR to El Cardonal in 2023, we have seen the championship introduce millions around the world to the beauty of Los Cabos and the quality of golf in the region, while this year gives us an opportunity to celebrate that history and offer a glimpse of what comes next for Diamante.”
Opened in 2014, El Cardonal was Tiger Woods’ first completed golf course design and became his first course to host an official PGA TOUR event when the championship arrived at Diamante in 2023. Inspired by the strategic, old-style courses of Southern California that Woods played in his youth, the layout presents professionals with a championship-caliber test while preserving multiple routes and shot options for golfers of all skill levels. Its natural arroyos, native dunes and expansive Pacific Ocean views provide one of the PGA TOUR’s most distinctive settings.
“When we design a championship course, we want to create something that can challenge the best players in the world,” said Tiger Woods. “But we also want the course to be fun and playable for higher handicappers. That balance is part of what we’ve created at El Cardonal and throughout all of our course designs at Diamante.”
Tournament week will extend well beyond the four competitive rounds. The Kick-Off Pro-Am will begin the festivities on Monday, Nov. 2, followed by the Oasis Short-Am benefiting the Diamante First Tee Foundation on Tuesday, Nov. 3. The El Cardonal and Dunes Pro-Ams will be played Wednesday, Nov. 4, giving guests the opportunity to experience two of Diamante’s acclaimed championship courses alongside PGA TOUR professionals. Additional programming will include a junior golf clinic, live entertainment, fan experiences and “Golf is Gourmet,” an intimate culinary event pairing VIP guests with TOUR professionals and renowned local chefs.
As Diamante celebrates the championship’s first two decades, attention is turning to what’s next within Legacy Club, Diamante’s private, owner-exclusive luxury residential community. At the heart of the community is Legacy Golf Club, an invitation-only golf club limited to just 250 families, with the new 18-hole Legacy Course by Tiger Woods and TGR Design at its center. The course transforms Baja’s arid landscape into a lush, secluded oasis of rolling green hills, tropical vegetation and flowing water features. Set within a natural basin with panoramic Pacific views, the course offers multiple strategic routes from tee to green and water in play on 13 holes, creating a distinct complement to Diamante’s El Cardonal and Dunes courses.
Legacy Golf Club will pair the championship course with a collection of dedicated amenities and members will also have access to Diamante Golf Club, including the Davis Love III–designed Dunes Course which is a world top-100-ranked course, El Cardonal, the TGR Design-Oasis Short Course and the Dunes Putting Course. Together, Legacy Golf Club and Diamante’s existing golf offerings will create an unrivaled collection of golf experiences within a single private destination in Cabo.
That combination has elevated Legacy Club to become one of the most coveted luxury residential communities in Los Cabos. Of the 250 memberships that will be offered, more than half are reserved, and only a limited number of residences and homesites remain available. No other address in Los Cabos will pair four distinct golf courses, a world top-100-ranked course and a PGA TOUR host venue on nearly two miles of Pacific coastline.
“The World Wide Technology Championship allows us to share what makes Diamante so unique with the world. Legacy Club and Legacy Golf Club are the natural continuation of it, an opportunity to create something even more personal, multigenerational and enduring,” Jowdy says. “We believe there is no better place in Cabo to own a home or to play golf, and we’re excited by the significant momentum we’re seeing as the Legacy Course and amenities get closer to opening.”
The 2026 World Wide Technology Championship will take place Nov. 2–8 at Diamante Cabo San Lucas, with official PGA TOUR competition scheduled for Nov. 5–8.
