Create Fun for the Whole Family

One of the things that sets The Indoor Golf Shop’s team apart is the detailed level of consultation customers receive when inquiring about the ideal simulator setup for their home, business or shared space.

They’ve heard essentially any question you could ask about indoor golf and, from the customer’s perspective, they get it.

Dad’s an 11-handicapper who wants to be a 6. His son wants to kick field goals for the high school team. Sis wants to make the varsity soccer team. Mom just wants a family gathering space where everybody’s not staring down at their phones. The ideal simulator room for some customers combines the best of golf play, practice and game improvement with multisport capabilities and sometimes functions as a home theater or the gameday big screen.

The Indoor Golf Shop is one of the leading vendors of G-TRAK, a space-saving garage sim system solution known for its practical, space-saving and storable design. The G-TRAK Retractable Impact Screen and the G-TRAK Retractable Net makes the dream of owning an in-home golf simulator, multi-sport training screen – or even a home theatre screen – within the financial reach for many consumers.

“We’ve helped thousands of customers design and install simulator spaces, and the garage continues to be the most popular location. G-TRAK was engineered specifically for that environment, offering an enclosure that maximizes available space while delivering the look, feel, and durability customers expect. Whether the goal is serious game improvement, family entertainment, or both, G-TRAK transforms an underutilized garage into one of the most enjoyable rooms in the home,” said Justin Carlson, The Indoor Golf Shop’s Vice President of Sales.

A YEAR-ROUND SPACE FOR THE ENTIRE FAMILY

Most simulator and launch monitor packages on the market, from many of the top brands, are compatible with G-TRAK, making the system one of the most scalable and accessible solutions on the market. In fact, flexibility is one of G-TRAK’s biggest advantages. Rather than forcing customers into a single hardware or software ecosystem, it’s designed to work with many of the industry’s leading launch monitors and simulator platforms. That gives golfers the freedom to start with the technology that fits their budget today and upgrade over time as their needs evolve.

“We believe buying a simulator should be a long-term investment, and G-TRAK provides the foundation to grow with new technology,” Carlson said. “One of the biggest trends we’re seeing is the shift from dedicated golf rooms to multi-purpose recreation spaces. Homeowners want a room the entire family can enjoy. G-TRAK creates a safe, durable environment for golf while also supporting baseball, softball, soccer, football, hockey, lacrosse, interactive games, and even home theater experiences. Instead of building a room that’s only used by one golfer, families are creating entertainment spaces that see daily use year-round.”

Carlson also notes that multisport installations have appeal even beyond the residential garage. “We’ve also installed systems for schools, commercial entertainment venues, and teaching facilities where the enclosure is used throughout the day by athletes of all ages. It’s become much more than a golf product; it’s an interactive sports platform,” he adds. “The most creative projects combine several uses into one space. We’ve seen homeowners build rooms that function as a golf simulator, home theater, gaming room, sports bar, and fitness studio all at once. During the week it’s a practice facility, on weekends, it’s a football watch party, and throughout the year it becomes the family’s favorite gathering space. Those projects really demonstrate how versatile today’s simulator rooms have become.”

To make a simulator space more functional for a variety of sports and usings, G-TRAK offers a growing lineup of accessories including premium hitting mat and turf systems, landing pads, projector mounts, protective padding, and other installation components that improve safety, durability, and immersion. Those accessories help customers customize their simulator for both golf and multi-sport use while maintaining a clean, professional appearance.

WHAT’S IT TAKE TO MAKE THIS WORK?

Wondering if G-TRAK will work in your garage space? Every installation is unique because ceiling height, room dimensions, golfer height, swing characteristics, and launch monitor requirements all play a role. As a general guideline, The Indoor Golf Shop recommends garage rail heights between 96” to 103”, with adequate width and depth for comfortable play.

“One of the biggest misconceptions is that you need an enormous garage. We’ve helped many customers optimize spaces they initially thought wouldn’t work through thoughtful design and product selection,” Carlson said. “If you have the space, I would add that finishing touches make the biggest difference. Premium hitting turf, matching landing turf, side protection, projector optimization, quality audio, comfortable seating, and clean cable management create a more immersive experience. We always encourage customers to think about lighting, storage, and room flow so the simulator feels like a true entertainment space, not just a hitting bay.”

Carlson points out that consumers often spend a great deal of their time comparing launch monitors, but the enclosure is the foundation of the simulator experience. G-TRAK combines premium construction, modular sizing, and broad compatibility with today’s leading launch monitors and software. “At The Indoor Golf Shop, we’ve seen firsthand that customers value solutions that continue to evolve with their technology instead of becoming obsolete. That’s what makes G-TRAK such a compelling long-term investment,”
