FRISCO, Texas – The PGA of America today named Scott Kmiec the Executive Director of the PGA of America REACH Foundation, the Association’s 501(c)(3) charitable organization. Kmiec will be based at the Home of the PGA of America in Frisco, Texas, and will report directly to Chief Operating Officer Phil Anderson, PGA.

Kmiec is a longtime employee of the PGA of America and was previously the Senior Director of PGA Career Services and ExecuSearch since 2016. He was also the Foundation’s first Senior Director from 2013-16. Prior to 2013, Kmiec spent 16 years as the Executive Director of the New Jersey Section PGA and New Jersey Golf Foundation.

Kmiec will lead the PGA of America REACH Foundation, providing strategic, financial and operational leadership to advance its mission. Priorities will include fundraising strategy, program execution, financial stewardship and organizational growth while strengthening national alignment across PGA of America leadership and its 41 Sections across the country.

The mission of the Foundation is to positively impact the lives of youth (PGA Jr. League Scholarships), military (PGA HOPE) and underserved communities (PGA WORKS) by enabling access to PGA of America Golf Professionals, PGA Sections and the game of golf.

“Scott Kmiec brings an unparalleled understanding of our Association, having served PGA of America Golf Professionals at both the Section and national levels for more than three decades,” said Anderson. “Kmiec’s expertise and deep-rooted relationships across the industry will allow us to significantly expand the impact the PGA of America REACH Foundation and our Members have on the lives of youth, military and diverse communities through the game of golf.”

“It’s a very special opportunity to return to the PGA of America REACH Foundation as Executive Director,” said Kmiec. “The Foundation and its impact has held a special place in my life for decades. The influence our Members and programs have on communities and individuals across the country is what makes it so special for me and our more than 30,000 PGA of America Golf Professionals. I look forward to moving the Foundation forward and working alongside our dedicated PGA Professionals, Sections, partners and trustees to drive the next chapter of our meaningful mission to change lives through golf.”

Under his leadership as the Senior Director of PGA Career Services and ExecuSearch Kmiec drove tremendous growth in both the size of the operation and the career impact for PGA of America Members and industry employers.

During his time as the Foundation’s first Senior Director, he oversaw the creation of PGA HOPE (Helping Our Patriots Everywhere), the flagship military pillar of the Foundation. PGA HOPE has now served more than 65,000 Veterans since its inception. Additionally, Kmiec helped PGA Sections establish their foundation efforts.

Kmiec was the New Jersey PGA Executive Director from 1997-2013 and was responsible for the total operations of the Section. He also oversaw the Section’s employment related efforts led by proactive relationship development with both employers and industry professionals, laying the groundwork for what PGA Career Services stands for today.

Kmiec graduated from Rutgers University in 1995 where he was the captain of the baseball team. He began his career in the golf industry as a collegiate intern with the NJPGA in January of 1995.
