Pinehurst, N.C. – The U.S. Kids Golf Foundation, in conjunction with the family of the late Dewey Crim, one of the first executives at U.S. Kids Golf, is pleased to offer the Dewey Crim Equipment Grant. This grant will provide golf equipment and learning resources to qualified U.S. Kids Golf Certified Coaches who fulfill the mission of serving kids and families through golf but may otherwise lack the resources to provide for their program’s needs.
The Crim family will start the initial funding of the grant, along with a long-term commitment to help fund it for many years. “My dad was dedicated to the idea that the right clubs and the right coaching would make kids lifelong golfers,” explained Mark Crim, Dewey’s son. “He loved his family, golf, and seeing other families play golf together. I can’t think of a better way to honor that than to help get more kids playing. And there is no organization he admired more than U.S. Kids Golf. It’s a perfect way to impact families and the game.”
Grant amounts will vary based on funding and need, and applications must be submitted by coaches who have been certified through the U.S. Kids Golf Coaches Institute.
“We’ve spent more than twenty years learning the best ways to introduce kids to the game,” said Dan Van Horn, President of the U.S. Kids Golf Foundation. “Through our research at the U.S. Kids Coaches Institute, we’ve developed the most effective ways to make learning more fun and deliver results. Now we can empower more coaches to introduce kids to golf with the help of the Crim family and this grant. Dewey was a great friend, supporter, and mentor. We’re excited about this opportunity to honor his legacy.”
