PGA Championship 2023 prop bets, golf odds, field, sleepers: Expert reveals head-to-head matchup picks

An elite field will take on one of golf’s most storied courses when the 2023 PGA Championship gets underway on Thursday at Oak Hill Country Club. Jon Rahm and Scottie Scheffler are the 7-1 co-betting favorites in the latest 2023 PGA Championship odds from Caesars Sportsbook. Other golfers expected to contend in the 2023 PGA Championship field include Rory McIlroy (11-1), Patrick Cantlay (18-1), Brooks Koepka (18-1), defending champion Justin Thomas (20-1), Dustin Johnson (20-1), and Jason Day (20-1).

Which 2023 PGA Championship prop bets should you target, and what 2023 PGA Championship sleepers could set you up for a strong payday? Before locking in any PGA Championship 2023 picks of your own, be sure to check out the PGA predictions and betting advice from SportsLine golf expert Mike McClure.

Mike McClure’s proprietary model at SportsLine has been red-hot since the PGA Tour resumed in June of 2020. In fact, the model is up over $8,800 on its best bets since the restart, nailing tournament after tournament.

McClure’s model predicted Jon Rahm would finish on top of the leaderboard at the 2023 Sentry Tournament of Champions and The American Express. At the 2023 Masters, the model was all over Rahm’s second career major victory heading into the weekend. Rahm was two strokes off the lead heading into the third round, but the model still projected him as the winner. It was the second straight Masters win for the model, which also nailed Scottie Scheffler winning in 2022.

In addition, the model included J.T. Poston in its best bets to win the 2022 John Deere Classic. That bet hit at +5500, and for the entire tournament, McClure’s best bets returned almost $1,100. McClure’s best bets included Collin Morikawa winning outright at the 2021 Open Championship, even though he was listed as a massive 40-1 longshot. It also nailed Jason Day’s Byron Nelson victory, even though he hadn’t won a PGA Tour event in five years.

This same model has also nailed a whopping nine majors entering the weekend. Anyone who has followed it has seen massive returns.

Now, McClure has set his sights on the 2023 PGA Championship field and just revealed his top PGA prop bets. You can head to SportsLine now to see all of McClure’s 2023 PGA Championship prop picks, sleepers, head-to-head matchups and best bets.

Top 2023 PGA Championship prop picks

One of McClure’s favorite prop bet picks this week at the PGA Championship 2023 is Tony Finau finishing in the top 20 at +105 odds (risk $100 to win $105). Finau recently won the Mexico Open at Vidanta and has top-25 finishes in 10 of his 12 starts in 2023. Finau has climbed to No. 12 in the Official World Golf Ranking, so he should be confident heading into this week’s event.

The 33-year-old is also elite in multiple key statistical categories. Finau ranks first on the PGA Tour in strokes gained on approach (1.108) and third in strokes gained tee-to-green (1.822) and total strokes gained (2.171). Given his recent form, McClure sees value in taking the six-time PGA Tour winner to finish inside the top 20 at plus-money. You can see the rest of McClure’s 2023 PGA Championship prop bet picks at SportsLine.

Top 2023 PGA Championship head-to-head matchup picks

Another shocking PGA Championship prop bet pick from McClure: Take Patrick Cantlay over Rory McIlroy in head-to-head golf betting at +102 odds. McIlroy, the No. 3-ranked player in the world, has long been considered one of the most talented golfers on the planet, but his recent form, which includes missed cuts at the Players Championship and the Masters, would suggest he’s not a player to back heading into this week’s PGA Championship 2023.

On the other hand, Cantlay has surged all the way up to No. 4 in the Official World Golf Ranking and is currently playing some of the best golf of his already distinguished professional career. In 11 starts in 2023, Cantlay has nine top-25 finishes and four top-fives. McClure has identified Cantlay as one of his top 2023 PGA Championship contenders this week at Oak Hill and sees plenty of value in taking him to beat McIlroy head-to-head for a plus money payout. You can see who else to back at the PGA Championship here.

McClure has also locked in a slew of other prop bets for the the PGA Championship 2023, including a longshot listed at almost 50-1 to win it all. Anyone who backs one of his 2023 PGA Championship sleepers could hit it big. You can only see his PGA Championship best bets at SportsLine.

So what 2023 PGA Championship prop picks should you target this week, and which massive longshot has a chance to stun the golfing world? Visit SportsLine to see McClure’s 2023 PGA Championship best bets, all from the expert who’s up over $8,800 since the PGA Tour restart, and find out.
