2023 RBC Heritage picks, odds, predictions, field: Proven golf insider fading Tony Finau at Harbour Town

The Masters is always a tough act to follow, but the PGA Tour has set the 2023 RBC Heritage up to draw a crowd this week in Hilton Head Island, S.C. The PGA Tour made the tournament a designated event, so a top-tier field will tee off Thursday at Harbour Town Golf Links. The iconic event will include the likes of Masters champion Jon Rahm, Scottie Scheffler, defending champion Jordan Spieth and Patrick Cantlay, last year’s runner-up. Rahm and Scheffler will continue their battle for world No. 1, currently held by Rahm, but Rory McIlroy pulled out after missing the cut at Augusta. Harbour Town is one of the world’s best courses, designed by Pete Dye and Jack Nicklaus. It has been the site of the RBC Heritage since 1969 but hasn’t hosted a field this strong in years.

Scheffler is the 8-1 favorite, just ahead of Rahm (17-2), in the latest 2023 RBC Heritage odds from Caesars Sportsbook. Cantlay (14-1) and Spieth (18-1), who went to a playoff last year after both finished 13-under par, aren’t too far behind. Collin Morikawa (18-1), Viktor Hovland (20-1), Xander Schauffele (22-1), Tony Finau (22-1) and Cameron Young (22-1) are also among the top contenders in the RBC Heritage 2023 field. Before making any 2023 RBC Heritage picks, be sure you check out the PGA Tour predictions and best bets from SportsLine golf insider Sia Nejad.

Nejad specializes in betting and DFS in golf, among other sports. He’s had incredible success in the outright and first-round leader markets and betting head-to-head matchups. In 2022, he hit six first-round leaders in a 12-week span while peppering in tournament outrights throughout the year. In 2023, Sportsline debuted “The Early Wedge,” and in the first three months of the show, he hit two FRLs and three outright winners. Nejad also had a winning head-to-head record in eight of 10 weeks (including full tournament sweeps on head-to-head plays). He was up more than 70 units over that three-month span.

Now, Nejad has studied the 2023 RBC Heritage field and has locked in his best bets, top sleepers and favorites to avoid. You can head to SportsLine now to see all of Nejad’s PGA picks and analysis.

Top 2023 RBC Heritage expert picks

Shockingly, Nejad doesn’t have high hopes for Finau this week and is fading the veteran. Finau won the 2023 Houston Open and won twice last season, and he is still posting decent scores but hasn’t been contending. He has two top-10 finishes since his November victory in Texas, the most recent in late January. The 33-year-old’s worst finish of the season was his T-26 at the Masters. While that shows he is playing well, it might not be good enough to make him a threat this week. “I’ve seen little evidence as of late that he can win in this elite field,” Nejad told SportsLine.

On the other hand, Hovland’s form has Nejad believing he can get another victory soon, and it might come at Harbour Town. The 25-year-old has won five times worldwide, and he went 14-under par (T-21) in his only previous RBC Heritage appearance. That came in 2020, when he was 22 years old. He opened that tournament with a 65, and he did the same last week at the Masters. That helped Hovland tie for seventh at Augusta despite a 2-over 74 final round. “It’s just a matter of time now for Hovland, as he’s about to take down a tournament,” Nejad says. See who he is backing at SportsLine.

How to make 2023 RBC Heritage golf picks

Nejad has locked in his best bets for the 2023 RBC Heritage and has tabbed his longshots, including one who comes in at odds well over 70-1. This golfer “has the upside to crash the party at the top,” the expert says, as he is putting together a strong all-around game. You can only see the picks at SportsLine.

So which players should you target or avoid for the 2023 RBC Heritage? And which golfer in the RBC Heritage 2023 field could bring a monster payday of well over 70-1? Check out the odds below, then visit SportsLine to see Sia Nejad’s top prop picks for RBC Heritage 2023, all from the expert who is locked in on golf betting and DFS.
