2023 AT&T Byron Nelson odds, picks, field: Surprising PGA predictions, bets from model that nailed nine majors

With only three of the current top-20 ranked golfers in the world competing at the 2023 AT&T Byron Nelson at TPC Craig Ranch in McKinney, Texas, this weekend’s event could provide the opportunity for some different faces to emerge toward the top of the leaderboard. After Jordan Spieth (wrist) withdrew on Monday, Scottie Scheffler (No. 2) is now the only golfer in the top 10 competing. Scheffler has won two of his last six tournaments and finished in the top 12 in 11 of his 12 tournaments this season.

Not surprisingly, Scheffler enters as the 9-2 favorite in the 2023 AT&T Byron Nelson odds on Caesars Sportbook. Tyrrell Hatton (14-1), Jason Day (18-1) and K.H. Lee (18-1) round out the four lowest odds on Caesars Sportsbook for the AT&T Byron Nelson 2023 beginning on Thursday morning. Before locking in your 2023 AT&T Byron Nelson picks, be sure to see the golf predictions and projected leaderboard from the proven computer model at SportsLine.

Our proprietary model, built by DFS pro Mike McClure, has been red-hot since the PGA Tour resumed in June of 2020. In fact, the model is up over $8,400 on its best bets since the restart, nailing tournament after tournament.

McClure’s model predicted Jon Rahm would finish on top of the leaderboard at the 2023 Sentry Tournament of Champions and The American Express. And at the 2023 Masters, the model was all over Rahm’s second career major victory heading into the weekend. Rahm was two strokes off the lead heading into the third round, but the model still projected him as the winner.

In addition, the model included Nick Hardy and Davis Riley in its best bets to win the 2023 Zurich Classic. That bet hit at +4500, and for the entire tournament, McClure’s best bets returned over $1,100. McClure’s best bets also included J.T. Poston winning outright at the 2022 John Deere Classic, even though he was listed as a massive 55-1 longshot.

This same model has also nailed a whopping nine majors entering the weekend. Anyone who has followed it has seen massive returns.

Now that the 2023 AT&T Byron Nelson field is locked, SportsLine simulated the tournament 10,000 times, and the results were surprising. Head to SportsLine now to see the projected leaderboard.

Top 2023 AT&T Byron Nelson predictions

One major surprise the model is calling for at the AT&T Byron Nelson 2023: Lee, the two-time defending champion, stumbles this week and barely cracks the top 10. Lee joined elite company last year when he successfully defended his AT&T Bryon Nelson title, joining Sam Snead, Jack Nicklaus and Tom Watson as the only golfers to do so in the tournament’s history.

He can become the 10th man since World War II to win an event on the PGA Tour three straight years, but the model is not high on his chances. Lee has struggled with consistency this season, finishing outside the top 20 in 12 tournaments. He also ranks 91st in putts per round (28.76) and 97th in one-putt percentage (40.30%), which does not bode well against several elite golfers in the 2023 AT&T Byron Nelson field.

Another surprise: Matt Kuchar, a 35-1 longshot, makes a strong run at the title. He has a much better chance to win it all than his odds imply, so he is a target for anyone looking for a huge payday. He has two top-20 finishes in his last three tournaments, including placing tied for third at the Valero Texas Open on April 2, after missing back-to-back cuts.

Kuchar ranks 13th on the PGA Tour in strokes gained (1.306), including No. 1 in strokes gained around the green (.576). That strong chipping ability is crucial to playing out of trouble and not compounding an early mistake. The 44-year-old golfer is looking to break a 93-match losing streak dating back to January 13, 2019. But he’s had some of his stronger performances at TPC Craig Ranch, including finishing tied for 12th last year and tied for 17th the year before. At 35-1 odds with some of the world’s best golfers skipping the 2023 AT&T Byron Nelson, Kuchar is a long shot worth watching out for. See who else to pick here.

How to make 2023 AT&T Byron Nelson picks

The model is also targeting two other longshots that are listed higher than 30-1 at the AT&T Byron Nelson 2023. Anyone who backs these longshots could hit it big. You can only see the model’s PGA picks here.

So who will win the AT&T Byron Nelson 2023? And which longshots stun the golfing world? Check out the 2023 AT&T Byron Nelson odds below and then visit SportsLine to see the projected 2023 AT&T Byron Nelson leaderboard, all from the model that’s nailed nine golf majors.
