Commanding Win Backed By Precision Ball-Striking And Bridgestone Mindset Technology
BLAINE, Minn. – Bridgestone Golf staffer Kurt Kitayama secured his first win of the season on Sunday at the 3M Open with a final round of 65 and 23-under-par total. The victory, made possible in part by his use of the Bridgestone TOUR B X MindSet golf ball, is Kitayama’s second PGA Tour win and qualifies him for the 2025 FedEx Cup Playoffs.
“We’re thrilled for Kurt and proud that he got the win using our TOUR B X MindSet golf ball,” said Dan Murphy, president of Bridgestone Golf. “We knew he was talented when he joined our Tour staff and can’t wait to see what he does next. It’s great to see MindSet win two of the last three Tour events, further validating Bridgestone’s results-driven technology.”
Kitayama’s win was highlighted by a course record-tying 11-under-par 60 on Saturday and followed up with a 65 on Sunday. His 20 birdies over the weekend also set a record as the most birdies-or-better in the final two rounds of a Tour win in the past 40 years. Overall, the UNLV alum displayed precision ball-striking and incredible putting, reinforcing the TOUR B X MindSet’s role in optimizing focus and performance under pressure.
“It means so much to come away today with the win, and I couldn’t have done it without Bridgestone,” said the California native. “I know I can count on the golf ball. That’s the best golf I’ve ever played on the weekend and trusting my ball is a big part of that.”
The TOUR B X MindSet golf ball played by Kitayama features Bridgestone’s revolutionary REACTIV X system that combines a REACTIV IQ cover with a new XCLRNT mid-layer for powerful distance off the tee and shot-stopping spin around the greens. It is the same model played by Jason Day and Chris Gotterup, the recent winner of the Scottish Open.
