HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. – Tim Cooke, Director of Instruction at The Golf Learning Center at The Sea Pines Resort, has been named to the list of Top 100 Teachers in America for 2026-27.
The biennial rankings are compiled by GOLF Magazine, which recognizes the most innovative, committed, and accomplished teachers in the country. It is the fifth consecutive year Cooke has been selected for the prestigious honor.

Cooke, who joined The Sea Pines Resort in 2013, holds a master’s degree in pedagogy from the University of Virginia and earned Master Professional in Instruction status from the PGA of America in 2009. His numerous honors and recognitions include PGA Carolinas Section Teacher of the Year, U.S. Kids Top 50 Instructor, and national Top 50 Growth of the Game Teaching Professional. He is also on Golf Digest’s list of the top teachers in South Carolina.
More than 100 junior golfers coached by Cooke have made the jump to collegiate golf in his teaching career. Cooke also is working with professionals on the PGA, LPGA, Champions and Korn Ferry tours. He has made numerous Golf Channel appearances and has authored dozens of instructional articles for major magazines. He resides on Hilton Head with his wife Kara, and their two children.
Since its inception in 1991, GOLF’s Top 100 Teachers in America rankings have established the industry standard for recognizing excellence in coaching. The biennial process is powered by the Top 100 Teachers Credentials Committee and is the only national golf instructor search that combines outside academic and PGA peer review.
Candidates are screened against 15 baseline criteria, including their teaching experience and accomplishments, student portfolio, and peer ratings, along with their overall commitment to the growth of the game.
