The H50 delivers fast, accurate GPS distance and interactive hole mapping in a premium handheld touchscreen.

Edinburgh, Scotland, UK – Shot Scope, an industry leader in performance-driven golf technology, today announces the official availability of the new H50 Handheld GPS. Powered by Shot Scope’s patent-pending golf map technology, the GPS handheld device delivers fast, accurate yardages and advanced visual course data in a sleek, easy to use touchscreen device. Designed to improve club selection and on-course decision making, the H50 provides precise front, middle, and back distances, along with dynamic ‘plays like’ yardages that account for elevation changes.

Mapped meter by meter, the Shot Scope H50 sets a new benchmark for handheld GPS devices, combining dual-band GPS technology with innovative course mapping to deliver exceptional precision in a golf specific handheld. The H50 comes preloaded with over 42,000 golf courses worldwide, spanning more than 600,000 mapped holes, with Shot Scope’s in-house team updating more than 8,000 courses annually to maintain industry leading accuracy.  The H50 features detailed hole maps, green view with pin placement, green contours, and digital elevation maps to support smarter shot planning throughout the round.

“The launch of the H50 represents an important milestone in our mission to transform the way golfers visualize each hole,” said David Hunter, CEO of Shot Scope. “By bringing detailed mapping and green contour insights to a large, responsive touchscreen, the H50 helps golfers plan every shot from tee to green with confidence. It’s an exciting development for anyone looking to improve their course management without complexity.”

Built around a large 4.3-inch AMOLED touchscreen, a feature rarely found in golf GPS hardware, the high-resolution display offers exceptional brightness and clarity in all lighting conditions and is IPX7 waterproof, ensuring reliable performance in rain or wet conditions. This vibrant, responsive touchscreen allows golfers to interact directly with detailed course information, making strategic decisions quickly instead of relying solely on static numbers on a small display.

At the heart of the H50 experience is interactive hole mapping, giving golfers a full overview of each hole from the tee. Multiple viewing modes allow players to move between a photographic image of every golf hole generated from real-time satellite imagery, automatically zoom into a predetermined length of every hole or green, or choose to view key front, middle, and back information in a large format. Players can quickly identify hazards, layup zones, dogleg distances, and landing areas with simple touch and drag functionality, making strategic decisions faster and more confident.

To further enhance usability, the H50 includes a built-in digital scorecard and seamlessly connects to the Shot Scope app, allowing golfers to sync rounds post-play, review scores, and store performance data in one centralized location. This integration ensures the H50 fits naturally into Shot Scope’s growing ecosystem, bridging on-course play with off-course review.

Designed with practicality in mind, the H50 features an extra-strong cart magnet that keeps the device securely mounted for easy viewing during play. Large, high contrast numbers are displayed clearly in both portrait and landscape modes, ensuring key distances are always visible at a glance. The intuitive interface promotes faster decisions and efficient pace of play without distraction.

The H50 will also include a competition mode, to ensure any plays like distances, slope or elevation data is turned off to comply with the Rules of Golf. Combining advanced GPS accuracy, premium touchscreen technology, and seamless app connectivity, the Shot Scope H50 delivers a powerful yet approachable solution for golfers who want modern visuals, precise data, and smarter course management in a single handheld device.

The addition of the H50 adds to Shot Scope’s ecosystem of products, covering golfers’ needs and wants both on and off the course, regardless of their budget or tech preference:

  • Launch Monitor: The breakthrough LM1.
  • GPS Handhelds: The brand-new H50, featuring Green Contour maps for those who look for large, detailed hole maps.
