Myrtle Beach, S.C.   – The Myrtle Beach Regional Economic Development Corporation (MBREDC) and Golf Tourism Solutions (GTS) are proud to announce a strategic partnership aimed at positioning Myrtle Beach as the destination of choice for existing, new and emerging golf-centric businesses that make up the $101.7 billion domestic golf industry seeking a corporate home.

Recognized as The Golf Capital of the World®, the Myrtle Beach area is home to a wide variety of consumer golf experiences including championship courses, short courses and numerous off-course golf entertainment options. A recently released economic impact study showed that, in 2024, over 3 million rounds of golf were played generating a $1.6 billion impact on the region while employing over 13,000 people.

The region’s golf industry is supported by a strong tourism infrastructure, a passionate golfing community, and a steady calendar of professional and amateur events. It also benefits from world-class golf-focused educational programs at Coastal Carolina University and Horry Georgetown Technical College, dedicated entrepreneurial support organizations, and a long tradition of innovation. Uniquely, the region is home to GTS—the only golf-centered economic development and destination marketing organization in the world.

This new collaboration between GTS and MBREDC seeks to leverage the area’s golf ecosystem to attract businesses in the golf industry including but not limited to: equipment manufacturers, maintenance equipment suppliers, apparel brands, technology companies, media platforms and service providers.

“As we diversify and strengthen our local economy, golf remains one of our region’s greatest assets,” said Sandy Davis, President and CEO of MBREDC. “This partnership allows us to leverage our brand and infrastructure to attract innovative golf businesses that align with our community’s identity and long-term growth strategy.”
