One player Holliman is firmly behind this week is Scheffler, who seems like a no-brainer at any price at this point. The 26-year-old has four straight top-three finishes and looked like he might make a late run for his second major title last week. Scheffler’s game is custom-made for courses like TPC River Highlands, and his putter caught fire in L.A. “I expect him to hold up better than most to the travel and the major hangover,” Holliman says. Scheffler leads the tour in total driving, greens in regulation and scoring average, so his work with the putter will be the key.
On the other hand, Holliman is fading Cantlay, predicting “he’ll crack the top 10 this time but probably won’t win.” Cantlay has finished in the top 25 in six of eight tries at TPC River Highlands.
