St. Augustine, Fla. – The World Golf Village Resort in St. Augustine, Fla., recently welcomed Pace Anderson as its new Director of Agronomy. Anderson joined the team in early July and has already begun overseeing agronomy operations for the resort’s two championship courses – the King & Bear and the Slammer & Squire – ensuring world-class course conditions for members, guests, and tournament play.
Anderson brings his experience from prestigious private clubs and tournament venues. Most recently he served as senior golf course superintendent at The Landings Golf & Athletic Club in Savannah, Ga., managing 36 holes of championship golf, a croquet lawn, and practice facilities. During his nearly decade-long tenure, Anderson led major improvement projects, implemented top-tier agronomic programs, and advanced eco-friendly practices aligned with Audubon standards. Each year, he prepared the course to host the Korn Ferry Tour’s Club Car Championship, featured on Golf Channel as the official host venue.
Prior to his time in Savannah, Anderson spent nearly five years at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., home of THE PLAYERS Championship. There, he was part of the leadership team that completed full renovations of the Stadium Course and Dye’s Valley Course. Over the course of his career, Anderson has supported more than 25 PGA TOUR-sanctioned events across the country, bringing a championship-level eye for detail to every project.
Located between Jacksonville’s coastline and the historic heart of St. Augustine, The World Golf Village blends the heritage of the game with modern resort amenities. Home to two award-winning golf courses – the King & Bear, the only course ever co-designed by Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus, and Slammer & Squire, a tribute to legends Sam Snead and Gene Sarazen – The World Golf Village is professionally managed by Troon Golf, the resort and daily fee operations division of Troon.
