Six golfers. Three models. One performance standard.
When it comes to golf gear, GolfWRX is where serious players go for unfiltered reviews, high-level insights, and deep-cut equipment talk. It’s a member forum home to one of the most discerning (and largest) communities in golf. So when GolfWRX tapped six of its members to test the new LT Series, we knew the feedback would be honest, detailed, and anything but sugarcoated.
What followed was weeks of hands-on feedback, head-to-head comparisons, and on-course observations from golfers across skill levels, swing types, and shoe preferences. Some testers had never worn SQAIRZ. Some were loyal to brands like Ecco, FootJoy, or Adidas. All had questions about whether a performance-focused shoe could deliver comfort, style, and measurable gains in real-world play.
The result? A comprehensive, user-driven review of the LT Series from golfers who put them through the wringer—walking in rain, riding in heat, grinding on mats, and comparing Trackman numbers.
Here’s what they discovered.
The LT Series
The LT Series represents SQAIRZ’s next evolution in performance golf footwear. All three models—VELO™ LT-X, SPEED2™ LT, and ProS2™ LT—weigh in under 425 grams, making them the lightest shoes we’ve ever built.
But what sets them apart the most is the way they’re built to work with your swing:
- Patented Roomier Toe Box for natural toe splay and ground connection
- Smart Traction™ System for consistent grip across all terrains
- NRG-Foam™ Midsole for maximum energy
- Sta-Put™ Silicone Lacing System for lockdown you don’t have to double-knot
Each model is tailored for different preferences. Some offer more airflow, some more structure. But all are built to do one thing: help you stay connected to the ground, generate more power, and walk off 18 with feet that don’t hate you.
Meet the Testers. See the Results.
These six GolfWRX members evaluated them through the lens of their personal golf games, body types, injuries, preferences, and swing mechanics.
@player922000 — The Power-Player With Flat Feet
Model Tested: VELO™ LT-X
Profile: 280+ lbs, flat feet, uses orthotics, normally wears spikeless
Right out of the gate, this tester praised the shoes’ grip—even in wet, sloppy conditions:
“I played in a scramble where it rained on us, and I didn’t feel even the slightest bit of slip. I had the best driving round of my life today, and I don’t believe in coincidences.”
As someone who typically avoids spikes due to green damage, he was stunned to find the VELO LT-X didn’t leave marks, even on soft greens. The square toe was initially unfamiliar, but after 7–8 rounds, the shoes “absolutely outperformed” expectations.
“They feel light, not clunky. And I feel like I’m able to generate slightly more speed and power.”
Bottom line: He’s now planning to try the wide version once available. For flat-footed power players who walk and wear inserts, these passed every test.
@medic170979 — The Wide-Footed Comfort Seeker
Model Tested: SPEED2™ LT
Profile: 6’0″, 250 lbs, 9 handicap, longtime Ecco wearer
This tester wasn’t initially drawn to the performance claims. His goal? Comfort.
“I was more interested in the wide toe box than speed gains. I’ve had foot and back issues, and my spikeless Eccos were my go-to.”
After multiple rounds—wet, hilly, cart path only—he found that SQAIRZ not only matched the comfort of his hybrid Eccos but delivered the stability of his spiked G5s.
“I would gladly trade a bit of foot sweat for waterproof and comfortable. The grass packed into the tread didn’t affect traction. My takeaway: they’re as comfy as my spikeless Biom with the stability of a G5.”
Bottom line: This was a tester looking to preserve his body, not pick up yards. But the shoes delivered both comfort and consistency.
@Nickiet55 — The Golf League Grinder with a Complex Foot Shape
Model Tested: VELO™ LT-X
Profile: 7.3 handicap, narrow heel, wide forefoot, back issues, walks most rounds
@Nickiet55 plays a lot of golf and struggles to find shoes that accommodate both ends of his foot—wide toes, narrow heel. His first impression?
“They were really comfortable and I didn’t have any sore feet after walking a full round, which never happens with new shoes.”
He also noticed performance improvement, even when not striking it perfectly:
“I wasn’t hitting the driver great, but still had more distance than usual. On a 510-yard par 5, I had 225 in after the drive. That was eye-opening.”
Bottom line: He plans to continue testing on a launch monitor, but already ranked the VELO™ LT-X among the most comfortable shoes he’s worn.
@N8dogg2669 — The Recovering Gear Junkie With Foot Injuries
Model Tested: ProS2™ LT → VELO™ LT-X (wide)
Profile: 7 handicap, mild tempo, recovering from foot trauma, owns 20+ pairs of shoes
This tester has tried everything—FJ Premier, Adidas 360, Ecco, Sketchers, G/FORE—and was skeptical of the square toe. He immediately realized the ProS2 wasn’t wide enough. After a quick call with our founder Bob, he was sent a VELO LT-X Wide the same day.
“I sent Bob pics and 20 minutes later, he called me. He saw the issue instantly. The customer service blew me away.”
He praised the lacing system’s security, the clean look of the shoe, and the shockingly low break-in time.
Bottom line: For someone who knows shoes, this was high praise..
@Cole_Williams11 — The Ex-PGA Pro Who Knows Gear
Model Tested: SPEED2™ LT
Profile: 1.4 index, mid-170s ball speed, size 13W/14, walks often
Cole runs a business, has three kids, and still manages a strong game. He’s a former PGA pro who’s extremely picky about gear. His verdict?
“These are the most comfortable out-of-the-box shoes I’ve ever worn walking.”
He compared SPEED2 LT directly to his Nike TW13s and saw a +2 MPH ball speed increase. What’s more surprising? His angle of attack was steeper in the SQAIRZ—and he still gained speed.
“They felt incredibly cushioned but stable. The square toe helped me visualize my lead foot flare at address. It was a bonus I didn’t expect.”
Bottom line: He gave the shoes a 94/100 and said he’d buy more pairs.
@thaar — The Tour 360 Purist Who Needs Stability
Model Tested: ProS2™ LT
Profile: 7 handicap, 108–112 mph swing speed, “dad-bod athletic,” Tour 360 loyalist
For @thaar, the benchmark was high. He’s been loyal to Adidas Tour 360s for years. But after two rounds and a Trackman session, he admitted:
“The Sqairz edged out my 360s in both average and max swing speed. They’re super stable.”
He did note a snug fit and a bit of a break-in period, but praised the durability, grip, and traction on wet courses.
Bottom line: For a player who doesn’t switch shoes lightly, this was a strong endorsement.
What We Learned
Across six different testers—different swings, feet, playing styles, and expectations—the LT Series passed the test. Every player found value. Some felt a stronger connection to the ground. Some noticed distance gains. Others finally found comfort for wide or flat feet that they’ve been chasing for years.
None of the testers were paid. No one was told what to say. They were just asked to play. And they did.
“They passed just about every test with flying colors.”
We’ll take that.
