Purpose:
To improve knee flexion range of motion while reducing muscle effort, often used in early post-op knee rehab or for patients with limited mobility or pain during active motion.
Description:
Lie on your back with legs straight. Loop a strap, belt, or towel around the foot of the leg you’re working. Using your arms, gently pull the strap to slide your heel toward your buttocks, bending the knee. Go only as far as is comfortable, then slowly release and return to the starting position. Repeat 10–15 times.
Equipment:
Strap, belt, or towel
Tips:
Relax the leg and let the arms do the work. Avoid forcing the stretch—move slowly and stop if there’s sharp pain.
