The gala honors what would have been the 86th birthday of Kathy Whitworth — the winningest golf professional ever —and supports a bold effort to carry her legacy forward. Proceeds from the evening will benefit the KW 88 Gift Award, an initiative supporting young women striving to reach the professional ranks of the LPGA.
“This is a celebration of Kathy Whitworth’s legacy as well as a commitment to the future,” says Bettye Odle, Kathy Whitworth’s partner and chairwoman of the Kathy Whitworth Foundation. “That’s the spirit of the Kathy Whitworth 88 Gifting Gala.”
The event will be an elegant and inspiring evening that will feature a cocktail hour sponsored by Independence Bourbon, a company that has distilled a special bourbon honoring Kathy Whitworth’s 88 wins. The appetizer reception will be followed by a multi-course dinner, reflections on Kathy’s extraordinary life, and honoring the next generation of women’s golf.
