Built Different From the Start
McGuire Ryan tried everything as a kid, basketball, football, soccer, but baseball always had a different pull. He understood it. The rhythm. The challenge. The grind. And pretty quickly, it became clear: this was the sport where he could go the farthest.
“I played pretty much every sport growing up,” McGuire said. “But baseball was the one I was best at. I’ve played it the longest. I made a lot of friends through it, and I just stuck with it.”
At just 15 years old, McGuire now plays a year-round schedule, high school ball and elite travel with the Zona Boys, one of the top programs in the country. Whether he’s in center field, on the mound, or locking down shortstop, McGuire brings consistency, focus, and leadership to every inning.
That Game That Changed Everything
Some moments define you. For McGuire, it came early with a championship on the line.
“It was our first tournament with the Zona Boys,” he said. “We were in the championship game, bottom of the last inning. Runner on third. Two outs. I got the pitch I wanted and just went for it.”
He launched a walk-off home run in his first weekend with a new team. The tournament was Prospect National, and Zona took home the trophy.
“That was one of those moments you don’t forget,” McGuire said. “It gave me the confidence to take things more seriously. It just confirmed that I’m on the right path.”
Built to Go the Distance
With the amount of baseball McGuire plays, gear matters. He looked for what holds up when you’re sprinting 60s, toeing the rubber, or tracking balls in the gap for hours on end.
That’s what led him to SQAIRZ.
He was wearing Nike cleats before. But the first time he tried the SQAIRZ GFP™, something clicked.
“The biggest difference I noticed was in the batter’s box. I had way more balance. As soon as I put them on, I felt more grounded and could generate more power.”
McGuire tested the difference on HitTrax and saw clear results.
“I hit the ball two to three miles per hour harder with SQAIRZ. And about 20 to 30 feet farther. I’ve tested it.”
He also ran his fastest 60-yard dash wearing the cleats. After full weekends of playing, his feet feel better. No soreness. No fatigue.
“They’re just more comfortable. After games in my old cleats, my feet would be sore. With SQAIRZ, nothing hurts. They feel amazing.”
The Way Forward
McGuire is currently preparing for the Sophomore National Showcase in Georgia, one of the most competitive scouting events in the country. His focus is on speed and he’s chasing a sub-7 60-yard time. He’s also building relationships, competing against top talent, and embracing every opportunity to grow.
“All the best players in the country will be there. Scouts will be watching. I’m really looking forward to it.”
McGuire is motivated. He looks up to Bryce Harper, for the way he plays the game.
“He brings energy. He hits for power. He’s a great teammate and an all-around player. That’s the kind of guy I want to be.”
The Mindset
When asked what advice he’d give to younger players, McGuire kept it real.
“Trust the process. Don’t get in your head too much. Baseball is a hard mental sport. When things aren’t going well, just keep working and keep grinding.”
That mindset has taken him from backyard games to walk-off moments, from high school scrimmages to national showcases.
With every rep, every inning, and every step, McGuire Ryan is chasing better. And SQAIRZ is proud to be part of the story he’s writing.
