2023 Masters odds, predictions, picks: Tiger Woods projection from golf model that nailed Scheffler’s win

The 2023 Masters field will be the smallest of the major championships this year. Jon Rahm headlines the group as the 15-2 favorite in the latest 2023 Masters odds at Caesars Sportsbook, while Scottie Scheffler (8-1) and Rory McIlroy (17-2) are both 2023 Masters contenders as well. Tiger Woods is a 55-1 longshot, joining past Masters champions like Patrick Reed (65-1) and Adam Scott (100-1) in the Masters 2023 field. Scott is 10 years removed from his win at Augusta National and has not won another major championship in his career.

Scott’s win at the 2013 Masters was also the only Masters won by an Australian. Cameron Smith (12-1) has a chance to break that drought, but should you back him with your 2023 Masters bets? Before locking in your 2023 Masters picks, be sure to see the golf predictions and projected leaderboard from the proven computer model at SportsLine.

SportsLine’s proprietary model, built by DFS pro Mike McClure, has been red-hot since the PGA Tour resumed in June of 2020. In fact, the model is up over $8,400 on its best bets since the restart, nailing tournament after tournament.

McClure’s model predicted Jon Rahm to finish on top of the leaderboard at the 2023 Sentry Tournament of Champions and The American Express. The model also included J.T. Poston in its best bets to win the 2022 John Deere Classic. That bet hit at +5500, and for the entire tournament, McClure’s best bets returned almost $1,100. At the 2022 Masters, McClure’s model was all over Scottie Scheffler’s first career major championship victory heading into the weekend.

In addition, McClure’s best bets included Collin Morikawa winning outright at the 2021 Open Championship, even though he was listed as a massive 40-1 long shot. The model was also all over Rahm’s (10-1) first career major championship victory at the 2021 U.S. Open. Rahm was two strokes off the lead heading into the weekend, but the model still projected him as the winner.

This same model has also nailed a whopping eight majors entering the weekend. Anyone who has followed it has seen massive returns.

Now that the 2023 Masters field is taking shape, SportsLine simulated the tournament 10,000 times, and the results were surprising. Head to SportsLine now to see the projected leaderboard.

Top 2023 Masters predictions

One major surprise the model is calling for at the 2023 Masters: Jordan Spieth, a three-time major champion and one of the top favorites, struggles mightily at Augusta National and doesn’t even crack the top 25. The 2015 champion missed the cut at Augusta for the first time in his career last year, highlighting his inconsistent play over the last few years.

Those issues have carried over into the 2022-23 season, as Spieth has several top-10s to go along with multiple missed cuts. He did not fare well at the major championships last year, finishing outside the top 30 in three of the four events. Spieth is not trustworthy heading into the Masters 2023, but the current odds do not reflect that, making him a golfer to avoid in early April.

The model has also revealed where Tiger will finish at the 2023 Masters. He made his major championship return last year at Augusta National following his Los Angeles car crash in February 2021, making the cut and finishing inside the top 50. He will play the newly-extended par-five 13th hole for the first time this year, with the yardage being increased by 35 yards.

Woods is a 15-time major champion, winning the Masters on five occasions. His first major championship came at Augusta National in 1997 and his most recent came in 2019 there as well. Woods has only played in one official event this season, finishing 45th at the Genesis Invitational. The model just locked in its surprising Tiger Woods Masters picks here.

How to make 2023 Masters picks

The model is also targeting five golfers with odds of 20-1 or longer who will make surprising runs. Anyone who backs these longshots could hit it big. You can only see the model’s PGA picks here.

Who will win the 2023 Masters, which longshots will stun the golfing world, and where will Tiger Woods finish?
